'He's a legit businessman': Mariah Carey reveals billionaire fiance James Packer doesn't want to be in her new E! series (and in true diva style, she REFUSES to call it a 'reality show')

Mariah Carey has confirmed she will star in a new E! series about her life - and the diva antics have already started.

The 45-year-old singer officially announced the upcoming show, which will air on the same network as Keeping Up With The Kardashians, in an interview with the New York Times on Tuesday.

'I refuse to call it a reality show,' she told the publication, in true diva style.

Still, the eight-part 'documentary series' Mariah's World has all the hallmarks of a reality series and will follow her life behind the scenes of her international tour.

The show began filming two weeks ago while Mariah was finishing up her Las Vegas stint.

It will also star her entourage of back-up singers, dancers and her manager.

However, her four-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan and James Packer will be largely off limits.

Mariah told the publication that her Australian billionaire fiance does not want to be filmed.

'He's a legit businessman,' she explained.

'It's not really his thing to be, like, traipsing all over Europe and hanging out with all my crew and dancers and singers.'

She also spoke about her children with ex husband Nick Cannon, noting: 'I don't want to do anything that's exploitative.'

'They haven't been filmed at all yet. There might be a couple of moments, but it's not about making them the stars of the show. They're too young to make that decision.'

On Tuesday Mariah performed a leg of her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour in Glasgow, Scotland.

The glamorous singer posted a snap of herself backstage in a tiny silver bodysuit with the caption: 'Glasgow about to hit the stage !! #sweetsweetfantasytour'.

Meanwhile, Mariah has yet to announce an official wedding date with businessman Packer, whose estimate worth is $4.5 billion.

The pop star is herself quite successful with her net worth estimated at $520 million.

Since their romance came to light in June last year, Mariah and James have barely been inseparable, enjoying a Mediterranean trip where they sailed around the Balearic Islands on James’ lavish yacht.
