Tapping talent: BGT judge Amanda Holden shows off her dancing skills in nothing but a towel and high heels in Instagram post

She's usually sat behind the desk critiquing the moves and groves of dancers of Britain's Got Talent.

But Amanda Holden proved she's not a one-trick pony, on Wednesday, when she uploaded a video to her Instagram account of her tap-dancing her way around the bathroom.

In the short clip, which she shared with her 148,000 followers, the 45-year-old star can be seen in nothing but a towel and a pair of high-heeled tap shoes - clacking and dancing around her bathroom.

Stood in what appears to be a hotel bathroom the former Wild At Heart star is stood in a towel brushing her teeth and listening to Jessie J's hit single, Bang Bang.

The actress - who is about to take on a role in the dance-focused play, Stepping Out - has obviously being spending all the hours she can squeezing in some practice for the routines.

And it would appear that includes while she's getting ready in the bathroom on a morning too, as the star comfortably tapped and twirled around the tiled room - despite the obvious slipping danger.

A risque routine? In the short clip, which she shared with her 148,000 followers, the 45-year-old star can be seen in nothing but a towel and a pair of high-heeled tap shoes - clacking and dancing around her bathroom

Keeping her modesty in-tact thanks to a firm grip on the large white fluffy towel wrapped around her body, the BGT judge spares no energy as she flings herself right into the middle of a routine.

Sashaying, stamping and romping around the bathroom, with legs flying and flashing - thanks to the energetic nature of the routine - Amanda barely breaks a sweat as she shows off her tapping skills.

Clearly half-way through her morning routine Amanda's hair is immaculately styled and straightened in a centre-parting, which hardly budges as she dips, ducks and dives around the room.

And while she only wore a towel in the video, Amanda managed to cover most of herself in a the towels fluffy folds.

However the show-stealing item featured in the video is the actress' towering tap shoes, which feature a sizeable block heel - something that doesn't appear to phase the clearly competent dancing queen.

Signalling the reason for the clip by posting a link in the caption box, Amanda drew attention to her up-coming stint in Richard Harris' classic play, Stepping Out, at the Bath Theatre Royal in October.

The play concerns eight individuals from disparate backgrounds and with differing motivations who attend the same weekly tap class in a dingy North London church hall.

The plot sees the students treating the classes as a social event at first, however they later develop a level of skill as they grow as a group and individuals.

The adaption of Harris' comedy will take place between October 12-22, and will star Amanda, Nicola Stephenson and Angela Griffin.

Meanwhile Amanda will no doubt be focusing on the up-coming series of BGT, which is due to hit screens in April.
