Open for business! Kanye West's Pablo pop-up shop draws crowds forcing the closure of a New York City block

He certainly knows how to draw a crowd.

And rapper-turned-fashion designer Kanye West proved this once more on the grand opening of his latest pop-up shop, Pablo, on Friday.

Police officers eventually had to shut down an entire New York City block due to the overwhelming turn-out of supporters that arrived to Kanye's temporary fixture in the SoHo district, according to TMZ.

Such is the popularity of Kanye's apparel, not only were customers restricted to purchasing just two items each, but a line of fans were already waiting around the block when the shop opened for business, the website reports.

A photo posted on Twitter by Kanye displayed an empty cobblestone street with a police presence and a crowd of fans fenced off onto the sidewalk.

Pictures reveal crowds of bundled-up fans standing side-by-side, chatting, taking selfies, and waiting for their moment to enter shop.

Prices for Kanye's coveted line were flexible as well, with Entertainment Weekly reporting that items of clothing were found priced at $35 and even $400.

On top of long-sleeved shirts and jean jackets, clothing featured inside included T-shirts with images of Kanye's late mother, Donda West.

The rapper's new album The Life Of Pablo served as the soundtrack inside the store, EW added.

Kanye got the word out that his second pop-up shop would be opening for two days early Thursday afternoon, and it turns out the short notice announcement did zip to deter fans from arriving.

The avid tweeter announced on the microblogging site, 'PABLO POP-UP SHOP MARCH 18-20 FRI 4-8 PM SAT SUN 12-8 PM AT 83 WOOSTER IN NYC.'

Kanye, however, was actually in Los Angeles the day of his store's grand opening.

As the mayhem surrounding his shop continued in New York, the rapper was pictured leaving Equinox gym, sporting his own line of apparel.

It's not Kanye's first foray into opening a trendy pop-up shop.

On top of opening up a Yeezus pop-up shop two years ago - and right next door to his wife Kim Kardashian's DASH Boutique - he also opened a temporary shop in the heart of Melbourne's bustling retail district nearly one year later.
