To give more people the opportunity to visit the Anne Frank House without having to wait in a queue, the museum will be introducing a new entry system from 1 May 2016.

From 1 May 2016 from 09:00 to 15:30 hr the Anne Frank House will only be open to visitors with an online ticket with a timeslot. From 15:30 hr until closing time the museum will be open to visitors who buy a ticket at the museum entrance.

FAQ

Until 1 May 2016 there is only a limited amount of online tickets available for each time slot. During regular hours, you can always visit the museum and buy a ticket on the spot. Entrance tickets become available on the website about two months in advance.

Opening hours 2016

November - March 
Open every day from 9:00 to 19:00 hrs (until 21:00 hrs on Saturdays).

April - October
Open every day from 9:00 to 22:00 hrs.

Last Admittance
The museum closes its door thirty minutes prior to closing. The queue for the Anne Frank House is closed earlier. Depending on the crowds, this may be two hours before closing.

Opening hours exceptions 2016

  • January 1: open from 12 noon - 7:00 pm
  • May 4: open from 9:00 am - 7:00 pm
  • Closed on Yom Kippur. In 2016, on October 12th
  • November 5: open from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (Amsterdam Museum Night)
  • December 25: open from 12 noon - 5:00 pm
  • December 31: open from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

    No free entry with the I amsterdam City Card.
    When visiting with a group, the entire group should wait in the, possible, queue.
    Children up to 10 years must be accompanied by an adult. Holders of youth discount cards may be asked for proof of identity on entry.

    Location

    The Anne Frank House is situated in the centre of Amsterdam at Prinsengracht 263-267. It takes around 20 minutes to walk from the Central Station to the museum. Trams 13, 14 and 17 and buses 170, 172 and 174 stop nearby, at the ‘Westermarkt’ stop.
