The trip to UAE comes just a few days after Terry's visit to Shanghai in China where he was helping to promote Blues sponsors Yokohama Tyres with a workshop training session at Nanyang High School.

Terry, one of the most decorated players in Chelsea's history, finds the future of his career at the centre of ongoing speculation and debate.

The Barking-born defender, who is a product of the west London club's youth academy system, can count four Premier League titles and five FA cups among his list of honours earned.

However, veteran Terry was told  in February that he would not be offered an extension to his contract at Stamford Bridge which expires at the end of this season.

Many fans as well as leading pundits and former players have criticised Chelsea's decision to release Terry, citing his leadership skills and despite his age, unwavering ability, as irreplaceable.

Ex-Chelsea midfielder and long-time team-mate of Terry's Frank Lampard told the Evening Standard: 'I think, for me, he's been probably the best defender at Chelsea again this year. I think he's a leader, he has a huge presence with the club.'

Lampard added: 'I would [give him another contract], but it's a decision for the club to make.

'I know John wants to stay. I think he's a help for the young players at the club, he's a link with the fans at the club, but the decision will be made by the owners.'
