A 32-year-old man has been arrested after Asad Shah, pictured centre, was set upon with a knife and had his head stamped on in a shocking attack outside his Glasgow newsagents shop, shown left, last night. Locals said Mr Shah was left kneeling in his own blood at the side of the road after the thugs ran off. The appalling attack came just hours after deeply religious 40-year-old, who was keen to reach out from the Muslim community to Christian neighbours, posted heartfelt Easter messages on social media. A police investigation has been launched into the full details surrounding Mr Shah's death, with officers pursuing a line of enquiry that the attack was 'racially prejudiced'. Police Scotland confirmed that everyone currently involved in the investigation was a Muslim. Mr Shah, who is originally from the Pakistani city of Rabwah, posted his Easter wishes on Facebook at 5.10pm last night - just four hours before he was murdered. In previous posts, he spoke out eloquently against violence and hatred and called for 'unconditional real love for all mankind'. As news of his death began to spread hundreds of people who knew Mr Shah arrived at his shop to pay their respects, shown top right and bottom right.

An Ottawa woman believes a chunk of frozen sewage plummeted from a passing aircraft and punched a hole through the roof of her mother's Nepean home early Sunday morning, just metres from where she lay sleeping.

Stephanie Moore had just returned from a trip to Cuba when she says she was awakened at 2 a.m. on Sunday by a "giant crashing noise." 

The 36-year-old teacher with the Ottawa Catholic School Board jumped out of bed, turned on a light and soon discovered a gaping hole in the ceiling of the hallway outside the bedroom where she had been sleeping.


"My head was only about 12 or 15 feet away," said Moore.

She quickly discovered pink insulation, drywall ceiling material and shattered bits of wood on the hallway floor, along with a puddle of water. Moore immediately called the insurance company.

Stephanie Moore was woken by the crashing noise, and looked up to discover a huge hole in the ceiling less than 15 feet from where she was sleeping in Ontario, Canada.

Plastic surgery addict Ted Richards has changed his name to Mr Parrotman 

Pictured here is Ted Richards, a 58-year-old from Bristol who had his ears removed and tongue split in a bid to look like his beloved pet parrots. But now he has gone a step further and changed his name - to Ted Parrotman. The retired shoe factory worker, who has dyed eye balls and horns in his head, has ditched his ordinary surname through Deed Poll after claiming his colourful creatures are his 'real family'.
