He's a doting father to two children under five-years-old, with wife Vanessa Lachey.

But on Thursday Nick Lachey had a little downtime as he took in a Clippers game in Los Angeles for an exciting date night with his 35-year-old partner.

The 42-year-old was clearly thrilled for the night out, as he could be seen throwing his fist in the air as he cheered on the LA team, who went on to score a victory against the Portland Trail Blazers, 96 to 94.

Nick dressed casually for the night out, sporting a V-neck, black T-shirt along with a pair of fitted, grey jeans.

He coupled those with a zip-up black jacket, finishing off the look with black boots and a black baseball cap for his and brother Drew's Ohio bar Lachey's.

Vanessa showed off her fashion credentials in a flowing, cream-colored tank top, which the Truth Be Told actress wore with a patterned jacket.

Good news! It was clearly a time to celebrate as Nick could be seen leaping out of his seat at the Clippers game on Thursday while Vanessa clapped excitedly

The red and white striped jacket featured an asymmetrical zipper, and she wore it with form-fitting, light wash jeans.

The stylish star accessorized the look with strappy, nude heels that coordinated with a chic, Yves Saint Laurent purse.

The couple, who tied the knot in the British Virgin Islands in July 2011 after five years of dating, could be seen cuddling on their date night while intently watching the game.

Double date: After a bit the couple switched seats, with Vanessa chatting with a girl friend as the two had what looked to be wine, while Nick and a male friend sipped on beer 

At times the former 98 Degrees band member could be seen jumping out of his seat and high fiving his wife, celebrating a good move by the Clippers.

She clearly got a kick out of her husband's passion, showing off a big grin as he slapped her hand or threw his fist in the air in excitement.

Vanessa was later spotted chatting with a friend as she sat in the second row, as Nick sat upfront with a friend to watch the game, both enjoying beers.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country David Hasselhoff watched from courtside as the New York Knicks took on the Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden.

He playfully dressed in a grey, graphic print T-shirt that read 'Don't Hassel the Hoff,' worn underneath a stylish, black leather jacket.

The 63-year-old coupled those with a pair of fitted, black trousers as well as black and white sneakers.
