'I contemplated suicide': Tracy Morgan thought about killing himself in the dark days following his near-fatal limo crash
In the days after he awoke from a coma to find himself blind and unable to walk, Tracy Morgan thought about killing himself.
The comedian, 47, had miraculously survived after a Walmart truck on the New Jersey Turnpike hit the limousine he was riding in on June 7, 2014, but the crash left him severely injured.
'I thought I was going to die for a long time. My thoughts – I was in a very dark place. I was sitting right here, contemplating suicide. I couldn't walk,' he told Rolling Stone magazine.

Suicidal thoughts: Tracy Morgan, pictured on The Tonight Show in January, has revealed to Rolling Stone that he contemplated suicide in the 'dark days' after the limousine crash that left him severely injured
His friend and mentor Jimmy Mack died at the scene and three others traveling with him were badly hurt.
Morgan spent eight days comatose in hospital and was blind for six days after regaining consciousness, and when he got home he was a prisoner in his second floor bedroom unable to walk or manage the stairs.
He suffered a traumatic brain injury that left him in need of cognitive therapy, and battled feelings of guilt that led him to seek psychiatric help.
Long road to recovery: Morgan, 47, was in a coma for eight days and suffered a traumatic brain injury and multiples fractures. He's pictured on NBC's Today in June 2015 still needing the aid of a cane to get about
'Emotionally, it's hard for me to deal with,' he says of the accident. 'I asked everybody to be there that night. I have to live with that.'
'But I had to forgive myself. I know Jimmy would want it like that.'
He plays a track for Rolling Stone that he says helped him make it through - it's the theme from the TV series Taxi.
It makes him cry.
Back live: The comedian made a return to Saturday Night Live on October 15, where he received a standing ovation from the audience and cast including Kenan Thompson and guest host Demi Lovato
Now, 21 months after the crash that occurred as he made his way home from a gig, Morgan is back out on tour again.
He's leasing a private jet to travel to and from his stand up performances, and his closeness to the heavens isn't lost on the man who claims he visited the afterlife before being sent back to Earth to keep on living.
'I don't think I cheated death. I think this was the plan. My room wasn't ready,' he explained.
Back to being funny: Almost two years after the accident that took the life of his friend and mentor Jimmy Mack, Morgan, pictured in November, is out on the road again with a new comedy tour
Back in May of 2015, Morgan reached a settlement with Walmart for an undisclosed about of money.
The magazine comments that it was clearly a very large financial payout from the retail company that took responsibility for the crash. It documents a series of new luxury cars his the driveway of his home including a Lamborghini, a Rolls-Royce and a top of the line Range Rover.
The comic and his wife Megan bought a mansion which they are gutting and renovating not far from where they currently reside, and will move their with their two-year-old daughter Maven once the construction is completed.
'I still have s*** here to do,' Morgan told the magazine. 'It's gonna take more than 18 wheels for me to get out of here. I have to raise my girl, raise my wife, raise my family.'
New lease on life: As he recovered from his injuries, Morgan married his fiancee Megan Wollover, 29, with whom he has a two-year-old daughter Maven. They're pictured at the Emmys in September 2015
