EXCLUSIVE: 'He'd make our life a misery': Justin Bieber's childhood neighbour claims 'his mom couldn't control him' as never-before-seen photo shows him in chess club

His former neighbours in the posh Calabasas area of Los Angeles famously couldn't stand Justin Bieber's partying, and he was forced to pay one of them $80,000 in 2014 after egging their house.

But it turns out that the pop star didn't only become a problem neighbour after he became famous, with a woman who lived near the now 22-year-old when he was a child claiming he made her life 'a misery'.

The revelation comes as a never-before-seen picture shows Justin with a shaved head, striking a thoughtful pose for his school's chess club.

But even though he may have had intellectual pursuits at school, his old neighbour insisted Biebs was a trouble-maker before he was famous.

As a child, Justin lived at a detached property in Stratford, Ontario, with his grandparents Bruce and Diane Dale at times when his mother Pattie, a single mom, was struggling to cope.

The neighbour, who refused to be named in case she upset any Beliebers, said: 'There's nothing good I can say about him. I'm just so glad he is gone.

'He was always throwing pears into our pool. He'd scare our cat. We used to phone other locals when he was out saying, "Be careful, Justin is outside."

'There is an apartment block nearby and he'd ring all the buzzers to get the residents to open the doors.

'My house was egged three times by that kid. If we went on holiday he'd play games on my lawn. After one winter we found 16 of his ice hockey pucks there.

'He'd play basketball on the lawn and trample on the plants. There was never a sorry. If there was mischief to be had, he'd have it. He'd make our life a misery.'

She added: 'His mom couldn't really control him. She had the brain of a ten year old.

'When I'd confront her, she would defend him saying things like, "If Justin says he didn't throw pears in the pool, he didn't throw pears in the pool because Justin never lies."

'I'd look at her like she was on a different planet. She couldn't control him.'

The neighbour said when he became famous the situation worsened when fans would throng the street singing his hit, Baby.

'They'd sing and yell at him to come out,' she said. 'One time he was here with Selena Gomez and he didn't want her to go out but she did, to say hi to the fans.

The neighbour added: 'I'm glad to see the back of him. I hope he never comes back.'

While Justin's neighbour may not have anything nice to say about him, staff at Stratford Secondary School where he was educated insist they are 'proud' of his success.

In photos from his old school yearbooks Justin also shows off his pre-fame 'mop top' hair do and his teenage knobbly knees.

Kim Booker, who taught Justin history, said: 'Justin certainly wasn't the worst pupil the school has ever had but he wasn't the greatest. It will certainly surprise some people he was in the chess club.

'He liked to have fun and mess around. He was an entertaining kid. Most staff liked him. One time we caught him sneaking out the back of a school bus after a trip to Niagra Falls because he wouldn't wait with the other kids.

'If he wanted to do something, he'd do it. He has matured over the years. He is more of his own man now. He seems to have got the teenage wildness out of him.

'He knows that if he is going to have a long career he has to act responsibly.'

'When he started to get well known online he turned up at school one day in the limo. The girls were impressed.

'He was a regular kid into his ice hockey and basketball. Since then we've been watching his career take off. He went through a bit of a shaky time but he has held it together. Good for him.

'It's hard to imagine what temptations are put in his way but he went through all that and came out stronger and better for it.'
