'I think a 'dad bod' would appeal to a lot of guys': Model Kris Smith reveals he isn't afraid of ageing and admits he already has grey hair

As a professional model, he'd be forgiven for harboring some concern about the visible signs that come with ageing. 

But Kris Smith, 37, has insisted that losing his chiseled abs and gaining a few extra grey hairs may actually work in his favour both on and off the runway.  

'I think a "dad bod" would definitely appeal to a lot of guys and, do you know what? A lot of women say they love the salt and pepper (but) I also think they like a bit of cushion', confessed Kris in an interview with The Daily Telegraph this week.

'I haven't even hit my prime yet,' the Myer department store ambassador said, adding: 'There's some salt and pepper in my beard. I've only got about 19 hairs on my chest and I think 11 of those are grey.'

In the past, the father-of-one has been opened about his struggles with negative body image and feelings of self-loathing.

Last year he revealed to New Idea that he very much still saw himself as 'that fat kid' when he struts down the runway.

Years of torment began at school when he was eight-years-old and he was bullied for his size, which lead to a vicious cycle of comfort eating and gaining weight.

The handsome star was 125kg at his heaviest.

'Not a day goes by that I don't still battle those demons. I'm still very insecure,' he told the publication at the time.

Meanwhile, Kris has been dating a fellow model, Maddy King, for over three years.  

The pair sparked rumours that they may have split last year after an eight-week social media drought of gushing posts.

They swiftly stepped out to dismiss speculation they had parted ways however, taking in a brisk morning work together in July last year.
