Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Sarah revealed the struggles she had experienced before creating the dress:

'I got pregnant at 14 and have a 13-year-old son. Just a year ago I had nothing - I was penniless.

'I couldn't afford to pay my rent and I never wanted to rack up arrears so I moved out and lived with friends with my two children.'

The idea for the creation came to her one night as she was falling asleep, something Sarah's describes as her 'Eureka' moment.

However making the dress was no mean feat. Sarah spent six hours every day for a month creating the garment, which is made up of 145 bags of Skittles held together with 90 tubes of glue.

After posting a picture of the colourful creation on social media, the image went viral and Sarah's talents were spotted by clothing company Ripleys.

The company were so impressed with the amateur designer's dress that they asked her to create her own collection of handbags and dresses, called the Sarah Louise Bryan range.

Her fashions are a firm hit with celebrities such as Big Brother star Chloe Jasmine who was pictured at a recent event with one of Sarah's handbags.

She has since designed a dress made of 3,000 poppies for the Royal British Legion having been inspired by the poppies outside the Tower of London in 2014.

But the Skittles dress wasn't Sarah's only attempt at a gown strewn with sweets. Last year she made a hundreds and thousands frock scattered in the cake toppers.

As well has homelessness, Sarah has overcome other personal issues including a painful breakup that sparked an addiction to laxatives .

Talking of her past, Sarah says she's a 'fighter' and she always wanted to give her children 'a better life.'

She describes the Skittles dress as a 'big break' that gave her the opportunity to rent a 'lovely home' and buy a sports car.

'I am hoping to be a millionaire in the not too distant future. I am proof that no matter who you are and how bad things can get anyone can get themselves out of a bad situation with ideas and drive.'

Today she's 'living the dream' and she 'never wants to wake up.'
