'Is it unreasonable if it takes a tumble?' Embarrassed mother threatens to secretly destroy her little girl's Easter egg contest entry - because it looks like 'the poop emoji'

  • Amused mother posted picture of her child's Easter creation on Mumsnet
  • Looking for advice as to whether she should sabotage the entry
  • Many people have been sharing their own Easter craft disasters online

A dismayed - but amused - woman has posted a desperate thread on parenting website Mumsnet after her child created what looked like a rather rude entry for a church baking competition.

The unnamed mother wrote that she was fretting over what the congregation, and an old-fashioned reverend given the false name Dave, would make of her daughter's creation - which looked like the 'poop emoji'.

The woman asked for advice from her fellow parents as to whether it would be morally acceptable to sabotage her daughter's entry for the Easter competition.

She wrote: 'It's not going to win a prize and will likely get us chased out of the village.'

She added: 'Bless her, she's been working on her entry for a fair old chunk of the day - she came up with a great idea of technology and decided she would do a load of emojis made from her batch of blown out eggs.'

'She loving toiled away and fashioned the s*** emoji.'

The mum continued 'AIBU [a phrase meaning Am I Being Unreasonable] to clean so vigorously tomorrow morning that Mister Cack takes and tumble and perishes?'

The post had a number of commentators who praised the egg and encouraged the mother to let her daughter take it in the for the competition.

One, NeedACleverNN, wrote: 'Let her enter it! He is brilliant. If the minister get's all huffy tell him his s*** doesn't smell like roses either and storm out with your head held high.'

QueenMab99 wrote: 'I don't think it would be offensive, Rev Dave probably will find it funny. She sounds very creative and witty! Encourage her.'

Seafoodeatit gave the mother a handy tip: 'Make a makeshift cone to go with it if you decide last minute it's needed.'

MORE EASTER FAILS...

Easter generally is a time for people to get crafty, where it's with chocolate, baking of making Easter bonnets for school competitions.

But some over-enthusiastic cooks and bakers have seen their efforts to create a chick cake pop or a bunny shaped pancake go horribly wrong - as they try to emulate Pinterest perfection.

Now these kitchen enthusiasts are showing off the results of their endeavours online - and they're nothing if not hilarious.

All that's required to turn the usual step of stuffing a hard boiled egg with a mixture of yolk, mustard and mayonnaise into a cute chick is to add a sliver of pepper for the beak and tiny slices of olive for the eyes.

One baker tried a different approach to the Easter chick by attempting to make adorable yellow cake pops.

However the icing on the resulting treat came up a strange beige colour with large cracks breaking up the face, that was a million miles away from the original.

The ambitious undertaking of making an elaborately iced cake in the shape of a sheep ended in tears.

The original, decorated with fondant flowers and swirls of white icing, looked like something only someone with the skills of Mary Berry should attempt.

That's probably why the cake ended up as a big white blob with a face that looked absolutely nothing like a sheep, or indeed any other living creature.
