Not forgetting his rock and roll attitude, he kept half of the buttons on his striped blue and white shirt undone which showcased a slither of his chest hair and some layered gold chains.

Sticking to the dark colour scheme, the former Faces member encased his legs in dark blue wash skinny jeans with matching blue trainers.

Making sure the outfit came together, he topped off the outfit with a dark brown and silver wide belt.

Penny, 45, on the other hand decided to opt for a more feminine look as she adorned her svelte figure with a baby pink jumper, which provided a soft platform for her long gold necklace.

Rod's other half who also calls England her first home, completed her look with a pair of grey cropped jeans which featured a zip element that allowed her legs to cool off during the Californian sun.

The former Ultimo model, decided to keep the rest of her outfit to the same colour scheme with beige ballet pumps, a structured handbag and tinted sunglasses which covered up her make-up free face.

The couple who first began dating in 2009 following Rod's second marriage to model Rachel Hunter, also have two children together- Alastair Wallace Stewart, 11, and Aiden Patrick Stewart, 5.

The Maggie May crooner drew on his experience of being a father later in life to convince his pals Ronnie, 68, and Sally Wood, 38, to try for a baby.

Now that they're expecting twins, rocker Rod admitted he couldn't stop laughing.

Appearing on ITV's Lorraine earlier this month, rocker Rod said: 'He doesn’t know what’s going to happen to him. I laugh every time I think of it.'

Whilst Rod has had eight children, he is adamant to not become a father again.

'No no no no. I’ve got a hockey player, I’ve got a musician, I’ve got a ballet dancer, a jazz dancer they are all pursuing wonderful careers in the arts. Extremely proud of them.

It seems as though recently Rod has been focusing his attention more on his five decade feud with icon Elton John- the most recent battle being over whose new album is shifting the most copies.

Much to Rod Stewart’s delight, his new album Another Country has easily outperformed Elton’s latest offering, Wonderful Crazy Night.
