A rather chilling start! Blood-soaked Anna Friel is battered and bruised as she strips off for thrilling new crime drama Marcella
She is set to hit TV screens in the upcoming ITV crime drama, Marcella.
And the first images released from the mini-series hint that it will be off to a truly thrilling start as actress Anna Friel is seen sitting naked in a bath whilst covered in blood in one of the opening scenes.
The 39-year-old star sports a nasty looking wound on her head while hugging her knees to her chest, while a large patch of blood can be seen on the wall behind her.

The brunette beauty is battered and bruised in the still as she sports a troubled expression on her grubby face.
Anna plays Marcella, who is persuaded to return to work when the police believe a serial killer who she failed to catch 10 years ago has returned.
The normally brunette actress revealed she had no issue showing her topless body on screen as she explained that her nipples were originally meant to be ‘erased’ in one scene.
According to The Sun, Anna said: ‘It said, “erase nipple”. I was like, “How are you going to erase my nipple?’ I think I would have rather shown it than be nipple-less!”

However Anna had just flashed more flesh than planned and editors were planning to use more steam to help protect her modesty.
Anna also revealed that none of the cast – including Downton’s Laura Carmichael – were told the identity of the murderer until they started filming the final scenes.
Anna said: ‘None of us knew. “We did take bets – I didn’t get it right!’
