England sent crashing down to earth after stunning Germany win as Holland expose defensive frailties to come back at Wembley

England 1-2 Holland: Vincent Janssen and Luciano Narsingh cancel out Jamie Vardy goal

ENGLAND 1-2 HOLLAND - MARTIN SAMUEL AT WEMBLEY: A team being as strong as its weakest link, the optimism around England's young side may need to be tempered with some abject pessimism about their defence. England were hassled and bullied out of victory by Holland here, just as they will in all likelihood be hassled and bullied out of the European Championship by the first good team they play in the knockout stage, unless they toughen up. Mistakes by John Stones, Danny Rose and Phil Jagielka cost them, and Roy Hodgson will have been dismayed that for the second match in succession, England conceded twice.

You really have to admire what Eoin Morgan has done with England's white-ball cricket since he was given that awful hospital pass before last year's 50-over World Cup.

My son is a cold, calculating and vicious man in the ring... he can't lose his mean streak, says Eubank Snr

JEFF POWELL: The Eubanks will visit Nick Blackwell in hospital as soon as the family of the man Chris Jnr watched being carried out the ring on a stretcher give their permission.

It was nearly 37 yards from goal and firmly central. This is Payet range. What happened next bordered on the inevitable. This was textbook Payet, the latest in a glorious catalogue of free-kick beauties. He sent it right-footed, sweeping with clinical curl and precision into the top right-hand corner of the Russian goal.
