Joy Ratima said she believes shop-bought wipes have a 'huge list of chemicals in them'.

And so instead of buying them, the mum-of-three advocates that the best and most purse-friendly way to get them is to make them yourself.

'I have had heaps of people ask me to show them how to make them the way I do,' she writes on the original video post, which since March 22 has attracted more than 1.6 million views on Facebook.

'Although I felt like an egg filming this...and I didn't really want to put it up here I thought I would so hopefully others can do the same.'

And people obviously are trying the creative method - as the video has also been shared just over 18,000 times.

The simple process involves cutting a large roll of kitchen towel in half, and squeezing each half into one of two 125ml plastic containers.

Next, you will need to whip up a mixture of coconut oil and watered-down, chemical-free body wash, which is then mixed with boiling water and poured into the containers with the kitchen roll.

Finally, all you need to do is slide the cardboard holder in the middle of each kitchen towel section out of the middle and place the lid on top of your freshly-made baby wipes.

The paper towel won't fall apart because it absorbs the mixture within the container.

The entire video takes just over three minutes and costs much less than shop-bought baby wipes, too.

Over to you to make your own.
