Chunky isn't a word which springs to mind to describe one of the most envied bodies in the world.

But Jennifer Lopez described herself that way on Thursday during an appearance on The View.

The 46-year-old pointed out a selfie and exclaimed: 'I was a little bit on the chunky side there as you can see,' much to the horror of the show's hosts.

Looking far from chunky, the American Idol judge was taken to task for the remark, by Whoopi Goldberg who stopped her in her tracks.

'Do we need to show you what chunky looks like?' the Ghost star chastened, before standing up and showing off her own body.

Whoopi pulled up her top, turning to JLo to say: 'This is a little bit on the chunky side! This girl [Lopez] has not been on the chunky side!'.

'Not chunky! That's not what I meant!' she corrected herself, adding: 'I fluctuate. I go up and down like seven or eight pounds all the time.

'Like when I'm doing the [Vegas] show I get slim. Then when I stop, I'm eating and I get chunky - I feel it.'
