She's no stranger to trying out new looks as part of her career.

So as Cara Delevingne stepped out in New York City on Wednesday, she was seen rocking an intricate hairdo.

After rounding up a photo-shoot, it seemed the 23-year-old loved the styling so much she'd try it out for real which made for an interesting sight.

When she's not looking glamorous on set modelling or acting, Cara Delevingne likes to keep things casual and is wed to her athleisure wear and trainers.

This week she was spotted rocking a retro hairdo in New York, which she teamed with a pair of black tracksuit bottoms, hoodie and Saint Laurent leather jacket.

Journeying along the street as she clutched a green canvas bag and black suitcase, Cara mixed up the eras with her ensemble.

For the shoot, Delevingne had the front section of her hair styled in retro finger waves slicked down with gel while the rest of her tresses laid flat in a single plait.

Despite working her 1920s inspired do, the model was her usual casual self in a laid back outfit.
