Elsewhere, high-flying West Ham could move into the top four with victory against Alan Pardew's struggling Crystal Palace. Remember me? 64 days after signing, Pato finally makes Chelsea debut and scores in four-goal rout over doomed Villa
ASTON VILLA 0-4 CHELSEA - LAURIE WHITWELL AT VILLA PARK: Chelsea stormed to an emphatic victory thanks to a debut strike for Alexandre Pato and a smart double from Pedro to send Aston Villa further into relegation trouble. Blues youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek opened the scoring from close range before Pato marked his first Chelsea appearance with a penalty late into first-half stoppage time. The home crowd turned on the Villa players as jeers rung round the ground as matters got worse with Pedro scoring a quickfire brace to secure an emphatic victory. Alan Hutton was sent off for a second booking in the closing stages as Aston Villa were left reflecting on another torrid afternoon.

The night race in Sakhir will see Lewis Hamilton attempt to end Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg's run of four straight wins that stretch back to last season as the world champion aims to get back on the top step of the podium following his second place in Melbourne. DAN RIPLEY brings you all the action.
Even Chelsea fans couldn't believe it when Pato was brought on... but Brazilian's debut suggests he was worth the (rather long) wait
It was the moment that Chelsea fans had waited 64 days to witness but when Alexandre Pato finally made his Premier League debut it was the fairytale start he would have dreamed of. Loic Remy limped off after 23 minutes with injury and Pato was ushered from his seat in the dugout by manager Guus Hiddink. He looked startled and about as surprised as everyone in the away end at Villa Park who must have wondered at some point over the last few weeks whether his loan signing from Corinthians actually ever happened.
Mourinho to... Fulham? Former Chelsea boss braves hostile fans to watch local rivals in action at Craven Cottage
Jose Mourinho was in the stands as Fulham entertained MK Dons in a relegation six-pointer at Craven Cottage in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday. The former Chelsea manager, who was sacked from his position at Stamford Bridge in December, was on hand to watch over the relegation battle as Slavisa Jokanovic's side looked to move away from the drop zone in west London.

Fight me, Floyd! Broner stops Theophane then calls Mayweather out of retirement over 'disrespect' to his record label
Adrien Broner challenged Floyd Mayweather to a return to the ring on Friday night after defeating Ashley Theophane in a ninth-round technical knockout. The 26-year-old's victory left the WBA super lightweight title vacant after he weighed in 0.4 lbs over the 140 lb limit on Thursday and was stripped of his belt. Theophane could have won the title with a victory, but the 35-year-old veteran never looked a serious threat to his opponent before referee Luis Pabon stopped the fight 1:10 into the round.
Burnley ace Keane bags injury-time equaliser to break Brighton hearts in key Championship promotion clash
BRIGHTON 2-2 BURNLEY: Dale Stephens gave Brighton the lead before Andre Gray levelled and Anthony Knockaert restored Albion's advantage on the stroke of half-time in front of a season's-high Amex Stadium crowd of 29,683. Burnley were controversially denied an equaliser in the 88th minute when a Keane header from substitute Matthew Taylor's corner was not given as a goal by referee Craig Pawson, although replays clearly showed the ball had crossed the line.
Most bizarre sending off ever? Melbourne striker earns a red card for kicking a rival while lying on his back getting treatment
Hot-head Besart Berisha (inset) will miss the opening games of Melbourne Victory's play-off campaign after being stupidly sent off against Wellington Phoenix while being treated by club doctors. The star striker was flat on his back receiving attention for a head injury when he lashed out at defender Andrew Durante, with referee Ben Williams immediately showing the red card (main picture).
Ribery scores second of season as Guardiola's side go eight points clear at top of Bundesliga

Mignolet made to sing Happy Birthday to a dog and Lucas offers 'world's worst chauffeur' £20 to belt out Tina Turner.... watch as Flanagan pranks Liverpool stars
Liverpool players Lucas Leiva and Simon Mignolet were the victims of an hilarious April Fools' Day prank by team-mate Jon Flanagan and his friend Scouse barber and actor John May. The pair believed they were being collected by a cab to be taken to the club as part of a promotional stunt for Vauxhall - unaware they were being filmed for the joke by LFC TV. While Flanagan struggled to stifle his laughter in the back seat, the driver takes the players, who are concerned about missing a team meeting, on a convoluted route to Anfield amid a succession of strange questions and even impromptu singing performances.
Real legend Raul talks to Sportsmail: 'You have to win titles every year... if you fail it gets complicated'
ADAM CRAFTON: These are peculiar times for Real Madrid. They are blessed by the gifts of the world's two most expensive players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. And yet, as they walk out into the lair of their great foes Barcelona on Saturday evening, they will do so only with damaged limitation in mind. Real Madrid, 10 times European Champions and 32 times La Liga winners, go to the Nou Camp as inferiors. So it is not entirely surprising when even Real Madrid icon Raul Gonzalez Blanco admits that he sits back in awe of this Barca side.
THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL: As Tottenham's title tilt takes them to Liverpool, 20 years on we talk to stars of the most unforgettable Premier League clash
DOMINIC KING AND CRAIG HOPE: It remains the stand-out game of the Barclays Premier League era. On Wednesday April 3, 1996, Kevin Keegan took title-chasing Newcastle United - a team dubbed 'The Entertainers' - to Anfield, where a similarly exciting Liverpool side, under the charge of Roy Evans, were waiting. With the season reaching its defining point, both teams knew nothing other than victory would do and their pursuit of three vital points was breathless. The football Liverpool and Newcastle played in front of a 40,702 crowd was spectacular and it ended in dramatic fashion, with Stan Collymore - the most expensive footballer in British history at the time at £8.5m - settling the thriller.
Rhodes among the goals as Boro regain automatic promotion spot with win
KIERAN GILL AT LOFTUS ROAD: Jordon Rhodes ended his goal drought to fire Middlesbrough within sight of the Premier League with a vital win over QPR on Friday night. Boro missed out on the Barclays Premier League last season after bad results in their run-in left them fourth but they made no mistake at Loftus Road last night. Karanka this week played Jordan Rhodes in a practice match against Sunderland to have him rediscover his goalscoring touch and it did just that with the £9million signing's opener.
Messi, Suarez, Neymar... but no Ronaldo! Here's our Barca-Real XI ahead of tomorrow's mouthwatering Clasico
PETE JENSON: It was not too long ago that a combined XI of Real Madrid and Barcelona players would be split down the middle, with at least five from each club. It is a measure of how Luis Enrique has taken Barca to another level that Sportsmail's composite team for Saturday's Clasico struggles to make room for any Real players. Here is our final XI, with just three of Zinedine Zidane's stars making the cut.
Preparing for his swan song? Ronaldo enjoys some downtime with his son before El Clasico
Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid face a highly-anticipated visit to the Nou Camp to face arch-rivals Barcelona in a La Liga El Clasico on Saturday evening. However, with a mere 24 hours away to one of his team's biggest clashes of the season, Real talisman Cristiano Ronaldo took to Instagram to upload two photographs of himself enjoying some father/son-time with Cristiano Ronaldo Jnr.
Now I laugh at my crazy critics... Gradel on witchcraft, Cherries and his debt to Howe
RIATH AL-SAMARRAI: Max Gradel is shaking his head, unsure whether to laugh or feel angry. He settles for both as he recalls suggestions made in the Ivory Coast a few months back that his career-threatening knee injury was caused by witchcraft and family rifts. 'It is nonsense,' he says. At first there is a smile but then the irritation kicks in.
Spieth is defending champion... but there's still a bit of fat-trimming to go before he arrives at the gates of Augusta
DEREK LAWRENSON IN HOUSTON: Two rounds to go before his defence of the Masters and there's still a bit of fat-trimming for Jordan Spieth to do before he arrives at the gates of Augusta National. For much of the time he looks like a prime athlete who's honing his preparations to peak for a certain race. But then he throws in a run of poor holes from nowhere that he simply couldn't afford to do next week to have any chance of keeping hold of the precious green jacket.

'This is NOT an April Fool': Joker Jack game for a laugh on Twitter as Arsenal midfielder finally trains after lengthy lay-off
Sportsmail revealed on Wednesday that the midfielder would be fit for the European Championship after recovering from a broken leg, news confirmed by Wenger on Friday. Wilshere had a metal plate inserted into his leg in September and has now returned to full training. He has been pencilled in to play in an Under 21 match against Newcastle on Friday.

Darlow's grandfather is a footnote in Newcastle's history... the rookie keeper is hoping he won't be the same
CRAIG HOPE: His grandfather was a daring centre forward who scored a heroic hat-trick on his debut for Newcastle United. But for goalkeeper Karl Darlow - the Premier League rookie now charged with saving Newcastle's season - it is strikers such as his grandad Ken Leek he must keep out.
QPR's Hoilett slides off the pitch and falls into a deep camera pit at Loftus Road
QPR endured a disappointing night as they lost 3-2 at home to Middlesbrough, but it was particularly forgettable for winger Junior Hoilett who managed to fall into a camera pit during the game. The Canada international, who came on as a second-half substitute at Loftus Road, was stretching to hook the ball back from the by-line and ended up sliding off the pitch into a deep camera pit.
Caretaker Club: As Black grabs reins at Aston Villa, do you remember these stand-in bosses in the Premier League?
There's something ever so sadist about a coach jumping at the chance to work under such conditions. Then again, Black is a caretaker manager. And caretaker managers aren't like you or me. There's a sub-section of Premier League history which proves it; the same men doing the same jobs for very similar periods of time at fairly regular intervals. They are managerial Polyfilla - robust, reliable and almost always completely unsuitable when it comes to sorting out problems long term. Here, Sportsmail picks out the coaches who've made the role of caretaker their own in the reinvented top flight, to varying degrees of success.

Rosberg fastest in practice for Bahrain GP as Hamilton falls well short of team-mate
Nico Rosberg completed a practice double in Bahrain on Friday as he bids to stamp his authority on the new Formula One season. Rosberg, winner of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix a fortnight ago, finished the day-and-night sessions at the Sakhir Circuit comfortably ahead of his Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton. The Silver Arrows appear to hold an ominous advantage over the rest of the field with McLaren's Jenson Button - the next-best placed driver - 1.2 seconds slower than Rosberg's best lap of one minute and 31.001 seconds. Indeed Rosberg's fastest time was comfortably faster than Hamilton's pole lap here last year.
Watson sees red as Sarries step up title bid with emphatic victory at the Rec
BATH 10-30 SARACENS - NIK SIMON AT THE REC: The taste of Grand Slam success quickly turned sour for Anthony Watson as the England star was sent off for the first time in his career on his return to the Rec. Referee Greg Garner showed the Bath full-back a straight red card 50 minutes into last Friday night's defeat following a mid-air collision with Red Rose team-mate Alex Goode. Chris Ashton, returning from a 10-week suspension for eye gouging, played the role of the pantomime villain, remonstrating with the officials before punishing Bath with two late tries.

How the Ice Kings melted: Leicester were top in April 1963 and chasing the title... but it went badly wrong after the Big Freeze
LAURIE WHITWELL: The scene is this: Leicester City are top of the league in April and on course for an historic title win. They have thrilled and surprised England with quick, direct football. Their striker is plundering goals, their playmaker pulling off tricks, their goalkeeper keeping clean sheets. The year, though, is not 2016. It is 1963, the last occasion Leicester were genuine contenders to finish as champions. They are ahead having taken the initiative over the coldest winter in more than 200 years, playing through the Big Freeze when postponements became rife.
