TMZ reports that the band formalized the concert at around 10 a.m. on Thursday morning, prompting hundreds of die-hard fans to rush to the Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard to try to secure tickets for the hastily announced show.

Surprise! Guns N' Roses announced most of the original band will be playing an impromptu show at the famous Troubadour in West Hollywood on Friday night
The rock band, consisting of lead singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, Steven Adler and Duff McKagan have been teasing a reunion tour for months.
Starting at noon, only 250 tickets were on offer for $10 each, with a limit of one per person.
Apparently, the crowd was large enough to warrant extra law enforcement to ensure the ticketing went smoothly.
Still popular: The band formalized the concert at around 10 a.m. on Thursday morning, prompting hundreds of die-hard fans to rush to the Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard to try to secure tickets for the hastily announced show
While the Tower Records location is iconic for many reasons, it's forever linked to the legendary band in particular because lead guitar player Slash, known for his recognizable hat, used to work at the location.
Many initially thought the concert announcement was an April Fools joke, but that was soon dispelled by the confirmation of an entire tour schedule.
Though the band has existed in one form or another since it's inception with Axl at the helm, the just-announced Not in This Lifetime tour once again includes Slash.
Just in case: The crowd was large enough to warrant extra law enforcement to ensure the ticketing went smoothly.

It was recently rumored that the band would also headline the massively popular Coachella music festival, which has also been confirmed.
When the tour schedule was initially released, fans were upset that there were no dates listed for Los Angeles, where the band originally formed, so the Troubadour date was a welcome addition.
The Troubadour is of course almost synonymous with the band, as the group landed their first record deal with the monolithic Geffen Records after a show there back in the 1980s.
It's for real: When the tour schedule was initially released, people were skeptical that there were no dates listed for Los Angeles, where the band originally formed, so the Troubadour date was a welcome addition.
Later in the day bassist Duff McKagan was spotted at the venue.
The 52-year-old looked to be filming some sort of documentary, as he was followed around by a camera crew.
He kept things casual with a black t-shirt, black jeans, sneakers, and of course an edgy leather jacket.
