Baywatch meets Jaws! Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson saves swimmer from shark attack in dramatic scenes on set

He's breathing new life into the Baywatch brand. 

And on Friday it looked like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson might also be re-booting another retro classic - Jaws.

The 43-year-old wrestler-turned-actor was seen saving a man from a shark attack - on the set of the movie in Savannah, Georgia.

Dwayne put his ample muscles to good use as he dragged the body of the man from the water in the gory scene. 

A special effects 'bite' mark was apparent on the shoulder of the wetsuit worn by the 'victim'. 

He was seen in classic Baywatch-style doing a slow-mo sprint along the beach, wearing his distinctive red and blue lifeguard uniform.

The actor is taking the role of Mitch Buchannon, which was made famous by David Hasselhof in the 1990s TV series. 

He also shared a snap of his genetically-blessed female co-stars on Friday, which he captioned: 'They'll save you, drink with you and kick your ass if you step outta line. 

'Our girls @alexannadaddario @kellyrohrbach @ilfenator warmly welcome you to our beach. #FemaleVelociraptors #BAYWATCH MAY 19th, 2017.'

Leonard DiCaprio's ex-girlfriend Kelly Rohrbach flaunts her toned figure in a skimpy two-piece which barely stays zipped up, as she steps into Pamela Anderson's flip-flops to play CJ Parker. 

She is flanked in the image by Ilfenesh Hadera and Alexandra Daddario, who are both clad in sexy swimwear. 

The Rock described Ilfenesh as, 'a 5'11 walkin' smokestack with legs for days. Smart and tougher than new rope' when he cast her for the role as his love interest, Stef.  

The tough guy with a soft heart - who is also producing the movie - shared a snap with another visitor to Friday's set - of the four-legged variety. 

He wrote, 'We have a ton of visitors come thru our #BAYWATCH set. Minnie May is one of my favs. She ain't fat, she's just curvy and big boned gal - the way I like em!;) #OnSet #BAYWATCH #WeLoveAllShapesAndSizes'.
