Manchester United prodigy Jesse Lingard ready to roar back into action after meeting 'new friend' on holiday in Dubai

Manchester United's Jesse Lingard has taken full advantage of the international break by jetting off to Dubai.

Having narrowly missed out on Roy Hodgson's England squad for the friendlies with Germany and Holland, Lingard took the opportunity to catch some sun to prepare for the final fixtures of the season.

During his trip the 23-year-old enjoyed meeting 'my new friend', posing for a picture with a tiger, an Orangutan and also uploading footage to Instagram feeding a giraffe.

Lingard has managed to establish himself as a first team regular for Manchester United and has been a rare positive sign for Louis van Gaal's stuttering side.

The youngster has fired in five goals and notched up four assists in 29 club appearances this campaign.

Lingard told the club's website the five golden rules which have transformed him into a first-team regular at Old Trafford.

'Confidence is the main one,' Lingard told manutd.com. 'You've got to be confident, always - on and off the pitch. But not in the arrogant way.

'You've got to be humble and have to keep your feet on the ground - again, on and off the pitch. You must respect the coaches and all the people who work behind closed doors - the chef, the doctor, you've got to respect all the staff,' added Lingard.

'You have got to have that spirit of togetherness to win trophies and be determined to win every game and train every day as hard as you can.

'I'm still young, still improving and still learning the game but I've got to practise and train and put that to use when it comes to matches.

'To be starting week in and week out at Manchester United is massive. It comes with a lot of pressure but you've got to cope with that.'

Lingard will now be heading back to the club's Carrington base as Manchester United prepare to host Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.
