She is going from reality to award-winning television.

Caitlyn Jenner looked incredibly chic in a crimson wrap dress at Saturday's GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills, California.

At the star-studded soiree, where it was revealed she is joining the cast of hit Amazon series Transparent alongside Jeffrey Tambor.

The show's creator and executive producer Jill Soloway spoke of the surprise casting at the bash.

While she described the news as 'a dream come true' in an interview with the Associated Press, Jill would not part with any details as to what Caitlyn's role would be in the new series.

According to the creator, the 66-year-old former Olympian will begin filming her scenes next week and will then appear in the series' upcoming third season.

Transparent - which has won a number of Golden Globes - follows transgender character Maura Pfefferman (Jeffrey Tambor) as she comes out as a woman to friends and family.

Jill told AP it was easy to get Caitlyn to join the show: 'We are all part of the same community.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wowed in a red dress that ensured she made a late and bold entrance.

The 66-year-old star gown was a long sleeved dress with a plunging neckline which cinched in at the waist.

Caitlyn arrived at the party alone despite Candis Cayne and some of her other co-stars being at the awards.

Caitlyn's E! reality series I am Cait won the GLAAD award for Outstanding Reality Show.

The star's show tied for top spot with I Am Jazz from TLC which star's 15-year-old trans activist Jazz Jennings and her family.

The two shows were nominated alongside New Girls on the Block, The Prancing Elites Project and Transcendent.

Transparent was also nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.

While outside of Hollywood's usual awards season, the GLAAD Media Awards is an extremely important one.

The awards recognizefilm, television and traditional media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

This year the awards are being televised on Logo in a one-hour special premiering Monday at 10pm.
