Chilling video and phone recordings released by Florida State Attorney's Office reveal the last moments of Cherish Perrywinkle (pictured inset, and left and right in orange dress), the eight-year-old girl who was kidnapped from a Walmart in 2013, then raped and murdered before her body was found in front of a church. Cherish was in Walmart with her mother and sisters when they were approached by a man (pictured left and right in black shirt) who offered to help them shop - a man who, it is believed, lured Cherish away before committing the barbaric acts. And the recently released recordings give a fuller picture of how that happened.

Dramatic pictures show cops surrounding the home of Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin's home with guns drawn during a tense two-hour stand-off. The 43-year-old vocalist confronted 30 heavily-armed officers in Los Angeles before he was dragged from the Los Angeles property on March 9. He was seen rushing inside after cops responded to a call that someone was trying to steal a car in his driveway. Cops were seen surrounding the house with their rifles raised while the troubled musician stood firm. Empty bottles of wine were seen strewn on the floor as the officers tried to coax him out of the house. Eventually Scantlin and a number of other suspects, including a woman, were dragged out of the house in handcuffs. It is just the latest brush with the law for the troubled 'Blurry' singer.

The Flyers had just defeated the Ottawa Senators 3-2 at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center and fans had piled onto the packed escalators when the incident occurred. Witnesses on the game described the chaos as the escalators suddenly began to speed up. 'We heard the escalator rev up a little bit. It started going faster and faster. Michaella McCollum Connolly, 23, has claimed 'a moment of madness' triggered her decision to attempt to smuggle cocaine worth £1.5 million from Peru to Spain. Speaking in her first interview since being paroled, McCollum Connolly, from Dungannon, Co Tyrone, (pictured now, right) looked a world away from the stony faced young woman who was caught at Lima Airport in 2013 with 24lbs of the Class A drug. The infamous 'hair donut' do had been replaced with long blonde locks, and the 23-year-old wore a smart white blazer over ripped black jeans and a black top, opting for red lipstick with matching nails. She was released effectively on parole on Thursday night after serving two years and three months. It is not yet known whether the terms of her release will allow her to return home or if she will have to remain in Peru for some time. McCollum Connolly and Melissa Reid, also 23, from Lenzie, Scotland, (pictured inset when they were arrested at Lima Airport) became known as the 'Peru Two' after being imprisoned in 2013 for six years and eight months for trying to smuggle cocaine from Peru to Spain.

Lucy DeCoutere tweeted Saturday she was resigning - just one day after Smith was arrested on domestic battery charges. 'If I find out that somebody is abusive, I cut them out of my life. It's very easy,' said DeCoutere who claims she has been a victim of sexual abuse. DeCoutere's comments came shortly after the Trailer Park Boys released a statement which insisted the cast stood behind Smith.

The £4million retrospective, entitled 'Exhibitionism', will open at the Saatchi Gallery in west London on Wednesday. Times Square was briefly evacuated at 8pm Saturday after a suspicious truck with exposed wires from the dashboard and gas canisters behind the seats was left unattended and running, authorities said. Members of the bomb squad and emergency units were called to the scene, while pedestrians were cleared from the area surrounding West 46th Street and 7th Avenue. NYPD spokesman J. Peter Donald gave the all clear bt 8.35pm, after the gas canisters were found to be empty. The vehicle, which was deemed safe, is subject to an ongoing investigation and the driver has been found and questioned.

Thomas Cohen, the father of Peaches' two young sons, said Bob Geldof and his daughters have supported him in the two years since his wife's death, describing their relationship as 'very close'. Mimi Mallory, 18, of Lynn Haven, Florida, will be heading to Southern Methodist University this year after she was accepted to 11 schools and offered $1,052,400 in combined scholarships from schools like Rawlins College, Florida State University, Furman University and Texas Christian University. Aged between six and 12, they were on an Easter egg hunt when they spotted the helicopter circling.

Four rare gray wolves have been shot dead in Oregon after they repeatedly attacked livestock, killing cattle and sheep. The wolf pack, led by an alpha male known as OR-4 (pictured), was shot dead by state officials who hovered above them in a helicopter before firing the fatal shots. OR-4 was 10 years old - considered elderly for a gray wolf - and is believed to have been preying on livestock because he was no longer able to successfully hunt wild animals, such as elk. There are just 110 wolves left in Oregon, according to official figures, but numbers have been increasing over the last few years. Approximately 1,800 wolves live in the north west of the United States, excluding Alaska.

Incredible photographs show the adorable baboon foraging in the national park in the north east of the country. It has a condition called Leucism which only affects the pigment in its skin and fur. The British photographer who took the snaps said he had 'no idea' white baboons existed.

Work is hard enough without your mates winding you up, but for one man a day at the office got even tougher when friends made him the butt of a very messy joke. Captured by one of the group on a mobile phone somewhere in the South of England, the clip begins with two grinning men opening the back of a transit van to reveal their victim sitting on the floor almost completely covered in paint (left). However, instead of helping their pal out of the vehicle the group stand around in hysterical fits of laughter and poke fun at him as his rage grows and grows (centre). After a couple of minutes of torment the man finally appears to see the funny side when he drops his head and says 'I hate my life' (right). It's hard not to feel sorry for the worker because with friends like these, who needs enemies.

It's said that dog is man's best friend but one animal lover is certain to disagree, as a video captures him enjoying some quality time with his feline pal. While some may find the sequence sickly-sweet, an incredible 1,398,996 have watched it, and a further 40,180 have shared it, in just over a month. In the short clip, filmed in an unknown location, the cat is seen pawing at the man's face to get his attention and after a few seconds the owner turns to let the cat give him a kiss by licking his lips (pictured left and right).

The radio-controlled helicopter (pictured flying, main) not only has rotary blades, but also has a chainsaw attached to it. The three friends from Finland who made it have nicknamed the invention their 'killer drone', and used the test flight to hack at trees, icicles and snowmen. Video of the test-run shows the drone flying towards snowmen at speed (top left) and their heads instantly disappearing into a cloud of slush and ice (bottom left) as the saw hit them.
