A porn star who accused fellow adult actor James Deen of sexual assault has been found dead at the age of 31 following a 'possible overdose'.
Amber Rayne, who worked in the industry for 10 years, passed away at her home in the Sun Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles.
LA Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told Daily Mail Online a friend who was with the actress at the time reported that she had died from a 'possible overdose'.
He said the exact cause of death may not be known until the autopsy is carried out or the results of the toxicology report come back, which could take up to six weeks.
Rayne, whose real name was Meghan Wren, was one of eight women who came forward claiming Dean sexually assaulted them both on and off movie sets.
In an interview with CFM in 2013, she revealed she had struggled with uterine cancer and had undergone 'relentless' chemotherapy.
Last year she revealed how difficult it was for her to come forward with the allegations, as she has become friends with Deen in the years since the incident.
It allegedly took place on the set of one of her first films.

Deen has vigorously denied the accusations.
It is believed she died on Saturday night or Sunday morning. An autopsy is set to take place at the end of this week.
None of her social media accounts suggested that anything was wrong. On Saturday she suggested a friend was coming to her apartment to share pizza and cookie dough ice cream.
Director Stormy Daniels, share his devastation after her death.
She told the first outlet to report her death, AVN: 'She was a really good friend, and one of the best actresses and performers that I've ever had the pleasure to work with, and I'm just glad that I had the opportunity to work with her and call her a friend.
Her stepmother wrote on Facebook: 'Pauls eldest daughter left us yesterday. RIP our sweet Meghan Wren.'
Originally from Detroit, Amber headed to Los Angeles with a touring musical production with a BA in Theater Arts and a Minor in Art History from California State University-Los Angeles.
She started in the adult industry when she was in her early twenties, with her first production in 2005.
Rayne claimed Deen called her 'b****' in the middle of a sex scene, at which point he punched her in the face and began to have intercourse with her so forcefully that she was left bleeding.
In an interview with the Daily Beast in December 2015, she said the decision to come forward with the allegations was hard as she was friends with Deen.
She said: 'We’re friends now and I’ll sometimes bring it up as a joke and you can see it makes him physically uncomfortable when I do, so he does realize something was wrong that day.
'I thought it was an insecurity phase. He was just starting out, he was still a young punk kid coming in and I still didn’t know what the game was.'
She described her horrific ordeal in the interview.
'His face twisted and he came down on my face two times- close-fisted,' she said.
She said he punched her in the face while they were still having anal intercourse and proceeded to assault her.
'He just starts shoving things in to the point where he ripped it and I bled everywhere. There was so much blood I couldn’t finish the scene,' she said.
She later had to receive stitches.
Away from her work she helped raise awareness and money for the treatment of lymphatic cancers after having fought through stage 3 Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma herself.
She was an avid horse fan and frequently posted pictures of herself riding on social media.
In the 2013 with CFM, she said: 'Aside from my career I'm still what could be considered the average everyday girl.

'Music is a rather large passion of mine and consumes a considerable amount of my time; whether it be dancing to it, playing my Les Paul, or hanging out listening to local bands music is usually involved.
'I am also a huge gamer (please translate as you will, but often it flat out means nerd), but I've found it works to my advantage as often times after a scene, the guys will challenge me to whatever games are on set that day.
'I also find myself staying active through dance (jazz, hip hop, ballet), soccer, softball, swimming and running (yes I run nearly 5 miles a day...don't believe me? Ask my dog lol she's there) I have only recently decreased my activity mainly due to my struggles with uterine cancer and the relentless effects of chemo. (uh how to put this kindly...it sucks!! yeah that'll do).'
In 2011, Rayne marked National Cancer Survivors Day with a Twitter post revealing that she had survived.
She wrote: 'Today is National Cancer Survivors Day...Im thankful to be celebrating that and that I did survive and am surviving in order to be here to.'
Her autopsy is set for later on this week. The actress was born Meghan Wren, was an activist for cancer awareness and documented some of her health struggles

Deen's unsettling comments about rape on social media in the past have been brought to life as he faces continued allegations.
He has frequently made light of rape and assault on social media, writing in both February 2011 and April 2012; 'It's not rape if you yell surprise.'
Deen also wrote in February 2012 on Twitter; 'Do they make candy hearts that say "rape me"???'
Rayne said it was difficult for her to come forward with the allegations as they were good friends
And in December 2010 wrote on the social media platform; 'I am going to rape your knees with hot fire.'
Deen, 30, born Bryan Sevilla, used Twitter to defend himself against the allegations in December, 2015, around the same time Rayne's interview was published.
He addressed claims by three accusers, writing; 'There have been some egregious claims made against me on social media.
'I want to assure my friends, fans and colleagues that these allegations are both false and defamatory.
'I respect women and I know and respect limits both professionally and privately.'
In response to the allegations he resigned as chairperson of the labor group Adult Performer Advocacy Committee's board of directors.
APAC Secretary Ela Darling released a statement about the resignation following the announcement.
'APAC recognizes the seriousness of the statements made by performers in the community and that they indicate a major conflict between a board member and other members of the organization.
'In the meantime, APAC will continue to provide support and guidance for adult performers.
'The APAC Board wants to state unequivocally that we stand with performers and other sex workers who are victims of any sort of sexual assault. APAC is committed to being a safe space for performers, and to creating a safer and healthier industry.'
Deen has not been arrested and refutes the claims.
In December he said he was 'honestly shocked' and 'completely baffled' by the sudden barrage of claims, and that he believes he has always respected a woman's right to consent both in his work and in his personal life.
