She's know as fierce Daenerys Targaryen in HBO's Game of Thrones.

But Emilia Clarke looked far from her mother of dragons character as she donned a pretty floral Dolce & Gabbana gown at the Mid-Winter Gala in San Francisco on Thursday.

The 29-year-old beauty wore a structured, black dress that featured an array of colourful flowers.

Emilia Clarke looked ravishing in this floral column dress. The creation in question is by Italian design duo Dolce & Gabbana and she wore it on the occasion of a gala sponsored by their label. In a classic Italian fashion, this dress provides a feminine print with a body hugging silhouette.

To see a floral embellished gown at a black tie do amidst a sea of standard black dresses is a breath of fresh air and we love the way Emilia has used a pop of color on her lips to match the poppies on her gown.

She appeared to be in high spirits, flashing a big smile as she mingled at the fundraising event, which was presented by Dolce & Gabbana to benefit the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.

Emilia's manicure and pedicure were painted in coordinating shades, opting for maroon on her feet while her hands sported a lighter look. 

She accessorized simply with a gold charm bracelet and drop earrings and a gold purse, adorned with jewels.

The light-haired brunette favoured Old Hollywood glamour for her hair and make-up. 

Her chin-length locks were parted to the side, a soft curl styled around her face. 

The Game of Thrones star will next be seen in  Verena in Voice from the Stone, a film about a nurse who desires to help a boy who's mother passed away.

Also at the bash was actor Devon Aoki, who looked chic in a pretty pink gown.

The model's gown featured a dramatic gathered ruffle skirt, and she added a pink handbag.
