Former Australian netball player Liz Ellis and her husband Matthew Stocks (pictured) have welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world after suffering three miscarriages as they tried for a second child. Ellis, 43, announced that she had given birth to her son Austin Ralph Stocks on Monday night. 'We are happy to announce the arrival of a baby brother for Evelyn. Austin Ralph Stocks was born last night. He weighs 4.37kg, is 52 cm and has a full head of hair'. The former Sydney Swifts netball captain turned to IVF after suffering two miscarriages by the age of 40, which left Ellis wondering if she was 'supposed to have another baby.' The couple already have one child, Evelyn (right).

The first-time mother named Corbit, who refused to be vaccinated for whooping cough during her pregnancy, has spent four weeks in hospital as her baby Ava struggles with the infection. She has shared her story publicly in a video posted to Gold Coast Health's website after spending the past month watching her daughter Ava struggle. She says her daughter constantly turns 'blue and goes floppy' as she battles the infection.

NEW Doting mother Princess Victoria of Sweden, 38, has posed for her first official photo with her new bundle of joy Prince Oscar with both mother and son wearing matching baby blue. The Crown Princess and her husband Prince Daniel released the portrait on the Swedish Royal Court's website with a message of thanks for the public. Three young men have been sentenced for manslaughter after grandmother Christine Fairweather (inset), 57, was killed in a 'prank' gone wrong. (L-R) Daniel Gavin, 21, Samuel Hawkins, 19, and Jason Campbell, 18, were sentenced to home detention and community service. Mrs Fairweather was struck by a car in Taranaki in new Zealand's North Island in August 2014 and died at the scene after the trio blocked a road using metal barriers.

Luke Hunt was granted weekend release from jail on Saturday after being handed a four-year sentence in 2014 for dangerous driving in Sydney, which resulted in the death of Kenneth Lay. However, the family of the elderly man killed in the car crash by the fiancé of model Samantha Harris say he has not served enough time in jail. He has served half of his sentence and his final release from jail is expected at the end of the month.

A Denver couple turned an empty lot and nine shipping containers into the house of their dreams. Libby and Regan Foster spent about a year building a seven-bedroom home with five bathrooms near the Colorado capital's Zuni Park, the Denver Post reported. 'I tried to dream up a new and creative way to build a house and this is what we came up with,' Regan told the Post. 'I liked the idea of building a house out of recycled materials.' The 4,000-square-foot house has two stories, and an upstairs suite specially made for Libby's mother, accessible via 'a catwalk covered with panels sawed from a large catalpa tree,' according to the Post. The Fosters also share the house with another couple and their child.

Archaeologists at the Australian National University have discovered 2,500-year-old human remains in a covered pit (main pictured) and buried in ceramic jars on the mysterious Plain of Jars in Xieng Khouang, Laos. Researchers said it suggests the stone jars (pictured inset), which measure up to 10ft (3 metres) tall, were used as vessels for decomposing bodies before the bones were later removed and buried in the surrounding area.

A Sydney woman who quit her well paid corporate job to become a professional mermaid says she has 'never been happier'. Renee Cidiac (pictured left and right in costume), 39, had been managing a shopping centre for nearly a decade when she decided she had enough. 'It just got to the point where sure, the money was fantastic, but it was just the same thing day after day,' Mrs Cidiac told Daily Mail Australia. So one day she told her boss 'I just want to be a mermaid' - and now she plays a mer-person full-time bringing six other staff at corporate functions and charity events.

After having triplets in 2009, the now-33-year-old Rachael Vilarinho's, confidence was at an all time low. 'My stomach had stretched outrageously, and even though I'd lost 30 kilos through dieting after childbirth, I couldn't lose that ugly stretch of flesh around the bottom of my tummy,' she told Daily Mail Australia (left). A 'mummy makeover' is the modern term used to describe the combination of stomach surgery and breast surgery that addresses the change in a woman's body after pregnancy and breastfeeding. She feels incredible now (inset).

A Tudor style property has gone up for sale in Mount Crosby, Queensland for $729,000. The property was built in 2010 by Ben Crossman who married his wife Penelope in a medieval themed ceremony. The sale of the house comes as the couple start plans for similarly themed properties.

At the Academy of Country Music Awards last night, Nicole Kidman stepped onto the red carpet sporting a dress with sheer panels to expose her legs, arms and a touch of side-boob. But the eye-watering number isn't the first bizarre outfit the Hollywood star has stepped out in. The six black-maned lions (pictured) are known as the Gomondwane Males after the area they control in Kruger National Park, South Africa. They often fight male rivals to the death for female attention. The group were snapped by photographer Ronesh Parbhoo when he was sitting just 10m away. They then began walking towards him (left) until they were within touching distance of his vehicle. Mr Parbhoo first noticed their presence by the reflection of his torch in their eyes. He admitted that the encounter left him feeling 'slightly nervous', although it was only later that he realised the animals were part of the coalition that ruled the area. It is likely that the six animals are related, as coalitions are usually made up of brothers, half-brothers and cousins who come together from their natal pride. They hunt together and will often travel long distances within their territory in search of females.

Footage has emerged of a miracle 'hop and run' by a kangaroo - which was hit at full speed by a man driving truck. 'Paul' is driving a white truck at dawn on a rural highway in Western Australia when a kangaroo leaps from the side of the road directly into the vehicle's path. However, despite the speed of the collision, the kangaroo flies into the rear tray and survives - with Paul revealing the animal hopped off like nothing ever happened.

Cavanaugh the dog immediately distrusted the slice of lemon on the kitchen floor. The weary pup got low to the ground to stare at it, waiting for the piece of fruit's next move. Then he pounced, pawing and knocking the citrus around until he realized it was harmless. That's when Cavanaugh decided to give it a sniff, and a first lick.
