And Adele was on form once again as she spoke the sold-out crowd in London about the rumours that Australian actress Rebel Wilson was set to play her in an upcoming film.

The 27-year-old chart topper gave a typically sassy response to the rumours as she joked: 'They need my f***ing permission.'

The talented singer started off stating: 'I've heard there are rumours about Rebel Wilson will be playing me in a movie – let's see if that turns out to be true.'

She then added: 'Just because I'm plus-sized doesn't mean she's playing me.'

Australian funnywoman Rebel, 36, is known for her comedic roles but is reportedly hoping that playing Adele on film would help to prove that she's a 'serious actress'.

According to Daily Star, a friend close to the actress said: 'Rebel has always wanted to prove she can cut it as a serious actress.

Her pal added: 'Rebel can't match Adele's vocal talents but she can certainly sing. And, with a little technical wizardry, she'll sound just like her in the movie.'

The insider also claimed that Rebel was 'desperate' to receive Adele's blessing on the project.

While on stage, Adele also addressed reaction to the news that she would be headlining Glastonbury as she said: 'One of the reasons I'm doing Glastonbury is to annoy all the people who are annoyed.

'Although I'm planning to go in disguise – perhaps as Beyonce, although I'd need to get a spray tan and that wouldn't be considered politically correct. That said, I'm a huge fan of hers.'

She then added: 'Pat Butcher might be a good alternative or maybe Ariel, the Little Mermaid.'
