It has been a long waiting game.

But Teen Mom 2 personality Jo Rivera finally announced he is to marry his long-term partner Vee Torres..

The reality television favourite made the exciting announcement on his Facebook page, to the delight of his dedicated band of followers.

The 23-yer-old said: 'It's been a long time coming but I'm so happy to finally (be) engaged to the woman of my dreams! Very excited for our big day.'

And it seems his bride-to-be, who is the mother of his five-month-old Velisse, is just as excited.

She said on her Facebook page: 'I love you so much! Thanks for being the best man ever and taking care of us. Can't wait to be your wife!'

The news first emerged after they updated their social media pages on Sunday to reflect their new marital status, and they later shared an image of her engagement ring on the MTV show's Instagram page.

Jo shot to fame as the ex of Teen Mom 2 main cast member Kailyn Lowry.

The former couple are parents to a six-year-old son Isaac, and they have clashed in the past over how their son is cared for.

In 2014 she slammed her former beau for missing a visit, saying in a deleted tweet: 'I’m not responsible for you missing your weekend.'

That same year she also claimed he was trying to force her to pull their boy out of preschool. 

Kailyn, 24, also has a son Lincoln with her husband of four years Javi Marroquin, however their relationship is said to be on the rocks, and it is rumoured they could be heading for divorce
