Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted it will be a risk to throw Joe Hart in to Wednesday's Champions League tie against Paris St Germain in France. Hart has not played since injuring his calf in the Manchester derby last month but is expected to play at the Parc de Princes after coming through a fitness test on Tuesday morning. Pellegrini said: 'Joe has worked without problem but it is always a risk coming back from injury.

The world of football has paid tribute to former Italy and AC Milan legend Cesare Maldini, with a host of former team-mates and club representatives joining family members at his funeral. Maldini's son Paolo, paid his respects with his mother Marisa at an emotional gathering in Saint Ambrose Basilica, Milan on Tuesday morning. Maldini, who won four Serie A titles and one European Cup with the Rossoneri between 1954 and 1963, died at the age of 84 on Sunday.

JEFF POWELL: Nigel Benn put his son Conor through a full-blooded sparring session in Australia before granting permission for him to come to London for his professional debut in London's O2 Arena this Saturday night. Benn Jnr sustained a busted nose and bleeding from the mouth as his father tested his boys ambition to follow him into the ring. 'Conor showed that he has got all of me in him and then some,' said Nigel. 'The first time we went at it I did batter him. He learns quick. The second time he hit me hard a few times to the head. It had to be serious if he wanted to do this and I ended up asking him "how can you beat up your 52-year-old father?"' 

Owen Farrell's rugby skills have been on display for club and country all season - and the Saracens No 10 showed he just just as adept with a football at his feet. As Mark McCall's men gear up for Saturday's Champions Cup clash with Northampton at Allianz Park,  Farrell and his Sarries team-mates took part in some 11-a-side action at their St Albans base on Tuesday. Farrell was integral to England's recent Grand Slam success, the 24-year-old dovetailing superbly with No 10 George Ford throughout the tournament.

Another season of frustration at the Stadium of Light has brought with it another battle to beat the drop with things looking increasingly perilous as the season winds down. Sunderland are 18th in the table and four points off 17th-placed Norwich, albeit with a game in hand on Alex Neil's men.

Antonio Conte is to earn £6.5million per season at Chelsea after signing a three-year contract but he will be only the fifth best paid boss in the Barclays Premier League. Even Jose Mourinho was on £13.2m while at Chelsea, but Pep Guardiola has that beaten, with the Manchester City manager to earn £15m per year when he joins in the summer.

Harry Kane spent Tuesday afternoon ironing clothes at a local hospice just days after straightening out Liverpool's defence in Tottenham's 1-1 draw at Anfield.  The Premier League's top scorer gave up his afternoon to visit London's Noah's Ark Hospice and he showed he is not afraid in helping out with the housework.  Kane left a smile on the faces of children and adults alike during his visit as he also helped out with the gardening before participating in a small-sided kickabout. 

Rory McIlroy began his Masters preparation in spectacular fashion on Monday by making a hole-in-one on the 16th hole at Augusta National. McIlroy, who is looking to become just the sixth player to complete the career grand slam by claiming a first green jacket this week, holed out with a seven iron from 170 yards to complete a 3&2 win in his match against England's Chris Wood. 'I don't think I have ever heard a roar that large in a practice round,' the four-time major winner said of the reaction from the crowd. 'It was great. It was a nice practice round and a bit of a highlight. And it ended the match as well.

Manny Pacquiao has arrived in Las Vegas ahead of what is expected to be his final ever professional fight against long-time rival Timothy Bradley on Saturday.  The 37-year-old Filipino boxer will be hoping to end his career on a high by defeating his American opponent during their third showdown at the MGM Grand.  The two fighters go into this weekend's meeting with a victory apiece during their previous fights, with Pacquiao exacting revenge on Bradley in their most recent bout in April 2014.

MARTIN KEOWN: I think Arsene Wenger's first thought when he saw the headlines about Jack Wilshere would have been: 'Not again.' Wenger is a manager who places so much importance in trust and care. He really does care for his players - they are like sons to him. That's why this will hurt. He has allowed Jack a certain level of trust but that is being stretched to the limit again. Jack is only doing what most young men do but he is a professional footballer and that means things are different. Nobody is saying he can't go out and let his hair down but you have to know when and where it's appropriate. You have to visualise the headlines and keep your head down.
