He didn't have The X Factor! Louis Walsh becomes the first star booted off Drive… as viewers give VERY mixed reaction to the racing reality show on social media

He made it clear as soon as he started to competition that driving isn't his forte.

And it was clear that Louis Walsh certainly didn't have the X Factor on the racing track as he found himself becoming the first celebrity to be kicked off ITV's new reality competition show, Drive.

The 63-year-old missed on the chance to stay in the show after he was beaten by former athlete Colin Jackson in the premiere episode on Tuesday evening.

Louis had started off stating that he wanted to win the show in order to get one up on his former friend and former boss Simon Cowell.

He explained: 'Everybody I told I was doing this show fell around laughing… what you are doing a motorcar show but you know nothing about motor racing, you can't even drive good.

'I know Simon Cowell will be so jealous because he loves cars, he loves motors and he loves racing. So if I win, it's up yours Simon.'

The first challenge for the stars - rapper Professor Green; singer Ella Eyre; actor and comedian Johnny Vegas; Olympic athlete Colin Jackson; TV presenter Mariella Frostrup; weather expert Laura Tobin and broadcaster Angus Deayton – saw Louis and his competitors get to grip with 'Banger racing'.

Banger Racing is known as one of the hardest of all motor sports due to the fact drivers are allowed to bump into each other.

In the first race of the series to determine who would go straight through to the following week's show, the eight celebrities were split into two groups.

Each group of four had to race against each other in their banger cars completing 10 laps around the track. But it wasn't just each other that they were up against… Four menacing 'Wreckers' were also on the track with the sole purpose of wreaking havoc.

Ella Eyre and Johnny Vegas won their races, leaving the remaining six stars pairing up in order to battle it out in a second Banger race.

Louis and Colin were paired up for the race and came in last, meaning they had to battle it out in the dreaded Night Race.

Ahead of his attempt, Louis admitted: 'I didn't want to be first out but I'm not a good driver.'
