Not long now! Kelly Clarkson shows off her blossoming baby bump during a visit to the Nashville Zoo with friends

She'll soon be welcoming her second child with husband Brandon Blackstock.

And as she was spotted at the Nashville Zoo last week, it looked as if that special day wasn't too far off for mom-to-be Kelly Clarkson.

The 33-year-old showed off her large baby bump in a fitted, black shirt as she visited the Tennessee zoo with some friends as well as one-year-old daughter River.

Kelly kept casual for the outing, sporting a short-sleeved, black T-shirt along with a pair of coordinating trousers.

She coupled those with a pair of black sneakers, and covered up her blonde tresses with a black baseball cap.

The mother-of-one wore her long locks pulled back into a ponytail, and hid her eyes behind a pair of black sunglasses.

She carried a water bottle as she walked around the sunny zoo, and could be seen caressing her blossoming baby bump.

And the expectant mother came prepared for the outing, as she sported a small, black backpack strapped across her back. 

The outing comes ahead of Kelly's appearance on the series finale of American Idol, which airs on Thursday on Fox.

She won the first season of the smash hit singing competition in 2002, and will be joining another successful Idol Winner, Carrie Underwood (who won season four in 2005).

Nearly every winner from the long-running series' 14 seasons is said to be returning for its big sendoff, with finalists appearing as well.

Meanwhile, it's a crazy time for Kelly, who shouldn't be too far off from her due date for her second child with Brandon.

The Heartbeat Song performer had announced the big news last August while performing a Piece by Piece Tour show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

'I was not planning on announcing this,' the star could be heard gushing to her audience. 'I'm totally pregnant.'

Kelly and her husband Brandon - who tied the knot in October 2013 - welcomed their first child together, daughter River Rose, on June 12, 2014.
