EXCLUSIVE: Caitlyn Jenner is STILL waiting to take the final step to becoming a woman after being transformed by top Los Angeles surgeon, author of new Kardashian book reveals

Ian Halperin is the author of Kardashian Dynasty, the forthcoming book which has already caused sensation by revealing how Kris Jenner was instrumental in making her daughter's sex tape public.

Now writing for Daily Mail Online reveals fresh details of how Bruce Jenner has become Caitlyn - and how Halperin himself sought out the prestigious Beverly Hill surgeon who he names for the first time as the man responsible for Jenner's transformation so far.

Caitlyn, in the Vanity Fair article last July in which she revealed her female identity and confirmed her transition, said that she had not yet had the final surgical procedures to transition.

Here Halperin details how he learned that she is still to complete the most-high profile transgender journey the world has ever known.

I went undercover as a transgender woman about a year and a half ago because rumors started to circulate that Bruce Jenner was going to have gender re-assignment surgery to become a woman.

No-one knew at the time if it was true or not, because Bruce was publicly denying this.

As she is now: Caitlyn Jenner was most recently seen chatting with friends in Los Angeles. Her transition from all-American athlete Bruce is the most high-profile transition ever. Now author Ian Halperin reveals more of the secrets of the change

Initially I suspected that was merely another publicity stunt dreamed up by Kris to divert from the fact that he had been involved in a car crash that killed a 69-year-old widow.

Stories had surfaced that Bruce had moved out of the family's home in June, 2013 and moved to Malibu. 

By then, his face was beginning to take on a decidedly feminine appearance but most assumed that his oddly shaped facial features were merely the result of one of the numerous plastic surgery procedures that Bruce was fond of. 

The whole family, in fact, were fans of surgical enhancement.

Before long, the newly single 63-year-old Jenner had grown his hair out into a pony tail, and was spotted sporting earrings and lip gloss. 

The long dormant rumors started anew, especially after he was spotted leaving the office of a Beverly Hills private surgeon. 

He confirmed that he was planning to undergo a 'tracheal shave,' which in effect removes the Adam's Apple and is a common procedure among transgender men before they undergo gender reassignment surgery, better known as a sex change operation.

At the time, however, Bruce denied he was transitioning. 'I just never liked my trachea,' he claimed. The transgender community wasn't buying it.

In January, 2014, he was photographed leaving the same clinic, the Beverly Hills Surgical Center, with a band-aided throat, having undergone the procedure. The news only escalated the rumors.

I also visited the doctor most likely to do the surgery, as a potential patient, and learned the full extent of what Jenner's body would have to endure to make the change.

I discovered that he was more serious about his intentions than he was letting on. He and Kris were living together but were no longer a couple at the time. 

She was still trying to get him to pray, but quickly realized that it was far too late for that. After a lifetime of denying who he was, his mind was set.

I found out that he was planning breast augmentation, hairline readjustment, eyebrow change and even his fingernails and toes were to be sculpted to look like a woman's.

When I arrived at the Beverly Hills Surgery Center on La Cienega Boulevard, the first thing that struck my eye upon entering the elegant clinic offices was a copy of the Caitlyn Jenner Vanity Fair cover laying out in the open on the receptionist's desk.

She informed me that Dr. Masoud Malek, the surgeon who my sources told me treated Caitlyn Jenner, was out for the day. 

His assistant came out to greet me and informed me that she would perform the consultation. I said that I wanted to be 'just like Caitlyn Jenner' and asked her if she knew anything about her surgery.

I pointed to the photo of Caitlyn on the cover, asking if he can shave it like that.

'You want it like that?' she asked. I nodded yes. 'Yes, if you talk to him, he can do that for you.'

She tells me the procedure will likely take between three and five hours and the recuperation would be around five to six months.

'It varies from patient to patient,' she explained.

'Everybody recovers completely differently. You have to come in three days after the surgery and after that every week so we can follow up and see that everything is right.'

Next, I inquired about the price and was told me liposuction would be two thousand dollars and that the Adam's Apple shave would be substantially more.

Only Dr Malek could give me an exact price.

Next I told her I wanted a breast augmentation and asked her the price for this procedure.

This time she there was no hesitation replying. 'It goes from six, seven, eight thousand. It depends on the size.'

Before we leave, she tells me she is optimistic they can help me on my 'journey' and that surgery will help turn me into a beautiful woman.

One of Caitlyn's best friends has told me that although she had planned to take the 'big plunge' at the same time, in fact she hesitated, wanting instead to leave that as the final step to signify her transformation.

The source has since told me that Caitlyn has been making inquiries and is now considering the last significant operation.
