  • The Blackish star made countless costume changes and switched up her lip colors to match
  • FEMAIL rounds up her best lip looks from the night and shares how you can copy them at home

At Tuesday night's Black Girls Rock! awards ceremony, host Tracee Ellis Ross, 43, proved that she can not only keep a crowd that includes Rihanna and Gladys Knight thoroughly entertained, but that she can also literally pull off any lipstick color.

Throughout this year's event, the Blackish star made an impressive amount of costume changes and while her wardrobe was seriously on point - fringe, leather, sequins, velvet...she went for it all - it was her bold lip colors that we couldn't look away from.

Here, we highlight our favorite lip colors from the night. Get inspired to go bold with hues like burgundy and fuchsia and shop lipsticks to copy Tracee's looks below.

RED

A rich red is perhaps the most versatile of lip colors - or so the evening's host proved.

She wore it with a red leather bodysuit, a blue feathered gown and a gold sequin number at different points of the evening.

BRIGHT PINK

Yes you can wear hot pink or fuchsia lipstick without looking like Barbie.

Pair it with a sophisticated ensemble (the neon pout will energize an LBD) and keep the rest of your make-up look natural a la Tracee.

BURGUNDY

A deep berry is decidedly winter-appropriate, but the color is so pretty, we plan on wearing it through the summer.

Seriously, is there any lipstick shade more striking?

Go bold or go home: The host evoked vintage glamor with burgundy lipstick and a floor-length velvet gown in the same shade

PALE PINK

A swipe of shimmery pale pink lipstick elevates a white dress without competing with it.

When worn by the actress on Tuesday, the result was subtle, yet nonetheless striking.
