Aaron Carter revealed that his idol Robert Downey Jr. left him and other patients a message on a cork board at the Betty Ford Clinic.

'[It read] "I am here with you all,"' the 28-year-old singer - who spent a month there - recalled on Tuesday's Entertainment Tonight.

'I probably shouldn't even say this, but I stayed in the same room that Robert Downey Jr. stayed in, and he became my idol because of Iron Man and what he did with his career. Then I made him my mentor without him even knowing about it.'

The two-time Oscar nominee - who turned 51 on Monday - landed in court-ordered rehab twice due to his taste for cocaine and heroin.

The Rancho Mirage facility also reportedly treated Elizabeth Taylor, Drew Barrymore, Anna Nicole Smith, Lindsay Lohan, Stevie Knicks, Billy Joel, and Richard Pryor.

These days, Aaron admits to only drinking wine and smoking marijuana recreationally.

'The misconceptions are that I'm a meth head, or I'm a crackhead, or I'm a drug addict,' the former Dancing With the Stars contestant said, blaming his thin 6ft frame.

'We just keep coming back together...I hope it works out, the two of us,' Aaron lamented.

The former child star - who filed for bankruptcy in 2013 - will release his fifth studio album, LØVË in late 2016.

It's hard to believe it's been 14 years since Aaron's last album Another Earthquake!

The I Want Candy hitmaker will next perform April 28 at the Mill City Nights in Minneapolis.
