  • Have come under fire in the past over offensive tweets about footballers

They've come under fire in the past with their provocative comments, and now gambling company Fruity King have sparked fury once again after a posting a mocking tweet about Amy Schumer.

The mobile casino company famously insulted footballer Yaya Toure in January when they put out a derogatory tweet about his wife of 12 years, Gineba Toure.

And now they have caused offence again, after posting a picture of actress and comedian Amy Schumer in her underwear with the caption: 'Don't call Amy Schumer plus-size. Behind every fat woman there is a beautiful woman. No seriously, your in the way (sic.)'

It comes just hours after the 34-year-old expressed dismay at being labelled 'plus-sized' by Glamour magazine, taking to Instagram to say that it was 'not cool'.

After Fruity King sent out the tweet on Tuesday evening, alongside a black and white photo of Amy from Annie Leibovitz's 2016 Pirelli calendar, people were quick to express their disgust.

An Oxford-based man wrote: 'This is worse than the holocaust joke you did. Absolutely desperate for you to fail. Looking forward to it happening soon.'

He referred to an incident last month in which the controversial company likened a photo of footballer Jamie Vardy to 'an extra from Schindler's List'.

Iain Botterilly, from London, wrote: 'Trying to work out what's worse. This tweet or the app...'

Sally Brealey, from Nottingham, sprang to Amy's defence, insisting she was 'normal', while one woman said the actress was 'cute'.

Another person blasted: 'You promoted this misspelt misguided miss-your-mum bulls*** on my timeline was it worth the money for 20 retweets you f***wits?'

One woman simply labelled whoever sent out the tweet as a 's***head.'

Amy was featured in the US edition of the magazine's plus-size issue this month, apparently without being told in advance - and despite being a size 6/8 (UK 10/12).

She took to Instagram yesterday to say: 'I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8.

'@glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous.' Her post has been liked 82,000 times in less than 24 hours.

The Annie Leibovitz photograph sees Amy - who says she has struggled with body image issues all her life - wearing nothing but a pair of lacy knickers as she sits on a stool drinking coffee.

When the image hit headlines in November 2015, the actress said: 'I've never felt more beautiful or more like myself. I love my body'.

Fruity King were labelled 'utterly disgraceful' in January after the comments over Manchester City athlete Yaya Toure's wife.
