West Virginia University's Delta Tau Delta fraternity has been suspended indefinitely after a member posted a video online showing him making a string of sexist comments inside a frat house.

The student, Stephen Budkey, made the video as an audition tape for the MTV reality show Real World.

The footage - which he has since deleted from his YouTube page - showed him making lewd comments about women and described parties that broke the fraternity's rules.

He refers to women as 'b***hes' and claims to have had sex behind a dumpster in two clips from the nine-minute video.

The full details of what was said in the video are not known because it has been deleted.

However, two clips show Budkey calling women 'b***hes' and boasting about his sex life.

Referring to his bedroom, he says: 'People on audition tapes are always like, "that's where the magic happens".

'That's bulls***, the magic happens everywhere; behind the dumpster, outside, in a bathroom, in my car, sometimes in my room, you never know. It happens everywhere.'

In a second clip, he adds: 'This is my room. I'm sorry guys, it's a little messy.

'I'll be honest with you, my b***hes haven't come to clean it up yet but you know after spring break they'll be there and it'll be real tidy.'

MTV's Real World places several young adults in a home in a different city every series and films their outrageous antics and wild parties.

The show had open casting calls on the WVU campus last month, the Charleston Gazette-Mail reported.

Other comments on his social media profile were about 'milfs' and how the attention he received thanks to the casting video was 'pretty cool'.

Roy Baker, associate dean of students and director of Greek life at WVU, slammed Budkey for the video.

'It's unfortunate that the actions of one individual sully the reputation of an entire organization, but the attitudes and behavior lifted up in this video are inconsistent with the values of Greek life in general and this University in particular,' he said.

'It's unfortunate that this comes at the same time when almost 1,000 Greeks spread out over our community last Saturday for more than two dozen community service projects.

'That is certainly more indicative of what Greek life is about,' he added.

Delta Tau Delta's national headquarters indefinitely suspended the chapter on Tuesday after the video surfaced.

The Intrafraternity Executive Council (IFC) said the video 'included a tour of the Delta Tau Delta chapter house while making inappropriate comments toward women, describing social functions that violate the conduct code of the IFC, and referencing activities that violated and are contradicting to the values of the national fraternity'.

The statement said the council was 'saddened that any member of the fraternity or sorority community would represent their organization and the University in this highly inappropriate manner'.

'This video simply does not represent the values that all fraternity men and sorority women agree to uphold when they accept membership in one of our organizations.' the statement continued.

'The Interfraternity Council firmly will not tolerate this or any type of unacceptable behavior from fraternity members at West Virginia University.'

The IFC said it would take 'appropriate sanctions' in the coming days.

Budkey told Daily Mail Online that he wanted to apologize to any women he offended with the video and that he had 'exaggerated his personality' in the video in an attempt to please casting directors.

If I have in any way offended women or anyone for that reason with the content and language of my video, I apologize,' he said.

'When this video was created, its intention was to highlight my potential for the show The Real World, on MTV.

'This was an over exaggeration of my personality, in order to stand out among other candidates. I was under the impression that my crude behavior and language was what casting directors were in search of, so I played the part.

'I did not expect such uproar because I genuinely thought this was all in good fun.

'This was a personal endeavor on my own part and had nothing to do with my fraternity. I claim full responsibility for my video highlighting my own fraternity’s obstructions to the IFC rules. I should not have filmed these nor should my fraternity have broken these rules.

'I realize my actions have reflected poorly on my own character, and the organizations I affiliate myself with. I only hope that my actions will be forgiven. In the future I will hold myself to the standards at which my peers, family, university and myself expect.'
