Leggy Maria Sharapova rocks skinny jeans and a sheer shirt at magazine party... as she continues to put on a defiant display after doping scandal

She's been putting on a defiant front following the recent furore over her drug scandal and provisional suspension from tennis.

And Maria Sharapova continued in this vein as she stepped out at the star-studded Snoop Dogg Vogue Party at West Hollywood's El Compadre restaurant on Wednesday evening.

The 28-year-old Russian tennis ace looked low-key but still lovely as she flaunted her pins while exiting the venue after the soiree.

Keeping it simple, the lofty sportswoman drew attention to her lithe, toned pins in a pair of cropped black skinny jeans teamed with ankle boots.

Going with an all-black theme, she tucked in a classic sheer bra-flashing shirt into the waistband of her denim and wrapped up warm with an oversized tweed jacket over the top.

The blonde beauty looked to be going for a casual, low-key vibe for the party - which also saw the likes of Miranda Kerr, Lily Aldridge and Ashley Graham in attendance - as she wore her mane teased into a messy side plait, tendrils of hair coming loose around her face.

She also appeared to be going almost make-up free, her glowing skin (fresh from her recent Mexico getaway) and striking features not needing much help from cosmetics.

The leggy tennis ace strode out with pride as she emerged from the party late into the night before hopping into a car to drive away with a male companion.

Maria, a former Wimbledon champion, has just returned from an idyllic sun-soaked getaway in Mexico along with her close pal, chat show host Chelsea Handler.

It appeared to be a distraction from her professional woes, which rocked the sporting world in January.

During a routine drugs test, Maria tested positive for recently banned substance meldonium at the Australian Open, and she is now provisionally banned from the sport.

She is also thought to face a four-year ban from tennis, though a reduced punishment is possible if she can show she did not intend to cheat.

The president of the Russian tennis federation Shamil Tarpishchev says the sporting ace - currently the world number nine - could have her disciplinary hearing for doping in June.

Tarpishchev told the state Tass news agency that 'the hearings could be put off until June,' adding that was 'not official information, but my opinion.'

Tarpishchev also added that he is in regular contact with Maria, and that she is continuing to train despite her current ban.

Maria has said she took meldonium for medical reasons and was not aware it had been banned for 2016.

She was dropped from a slew of lucrative endorsements and asked to step down as a United Nations ambassador after she admitted to failing the drug test.
