She said last month that she is 'shocked and scared' after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

And now in the midst of treatment Janice Dickinson was pictured looking frail as she was wheeled out of a medical facility in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 61-year-old former model appeared to be on her way home accompanied by a pal and her fiance, psychiatrist Dr. Robert Gerner.

Dressed in polka-dot pajamas and a snug black robe, the mother-of-two gripped her companion's hand as she rolled out to a waiting car.

Janice's brunette locks looked styled with a soft curl and she wore a slick of scarlet red lipstick on her otherwise makeup-free face.

In an emotional interview with Dailymail.com the model revealed a doctor had found a lump in her right breast during a routine medical examination.

After an urgent mammogram and biopsy Janice was found to have early stage ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) - a common form of breast cancer that starts in the milk ducts.

The star has been visiting a UCLA hospital almost daily now and undergoing a series of blood tests, specialized mammograms and an electrocardiogram, a test which checks for problems with the electrical activity of the heart.

She also revealed she was going to be going in for surgery to have a one-inch area of tissue around the lump in her breast removed.

Doctors have detected cancer in as many as three of Janice's lymph nodes and they will be testing the tissue to see if the cancer has reached the outer edges.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Online, Janice choked back tears as she spoke of facing the greatest challenge of her life.

She says: 'It's hard for me to say this, but I have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

'It's still quite shocking. Today I got very scared... I just get very scared and it hit me. But I am not gonna let that define me, the fear. I'm going to get through this, I'll be just fine kiddo.'
