She has long been sartorial star, even at her young age, so it stands to reason she is not about to slip behind in the hair department either.

Just a day after her three-year-old cousin Penelope Disick debuted long hair extension braids, North West has followed suit, and it's a style that her famous mother Kim Kardashian also favours.

While just two years of age, the tiny tot revealed her now extra-long hair on Kim's SnapChat on Wednesday.

Kim proudly posted a picture of her little girl, showing North with two braids that reached all the way to her waist.

North - who is with the entire Kardashian/Jenner clan in Colorado - must have had extensions added whilst on holiday as just the day prior she had just her natural hair braided back in two plaits.

Later in the day, North stepped out for a some snowmobiling fun with her mother and some of her other relatives, with Kim holding her little girl in her arms while showing off her long new locks.

Although Kim is no longer wearing her raven tresses in a slick double French plait style, it's a look she has favoured in recent months like many other members of her family, including sisters Khloe and Kourtney, and her younger half-siblings Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

Her new hair additions ensured she rocked similar braids to her auntie Khloe and older cousin, Penelope.

However, while North's matched her natural hair colour, Khloe's and Penelope's featured different shades of blonde and were identical to one another.

Posting a picture of herself and her niece on Instagram, the 31-year-old wrote: 'I made her my mini me!!'

She's her idol! Earlier in March, Kim wore her long dark locks in the same style while North had her much shorter mane teased into a similar French plaited style

However, some have criticised Kim and Kanye's decision to allow their toddler to have hair extensions at such a young age.

Taking to Twitter, people commented on her tender age and how having the longer hair put in could damage her natural tresses.

One social media user, @KatyEdgington, remarked: 'North West has hair extensions? Do what you want as a mom, but 2 years old and already being taught that natural isn't good enough?'

Another, @agsalons, commented that the youngster will be needing a product that repairs damaged hair by her third birthday, which is on June 15.

Mixed reaction: Concerned Twitter users took to the site to air their concerns over the toddler's hair extensions

'Kim Kardashian gave her 2-year-old north west hair extensions. one thinks Olaplex will be needed for her 3rd bday!' they wrote.

'So like how old is north west and they put weave in this baby hair already smh,' @Hail2daKING_ added.

And ‏@victoriakate16 simply asked: 'They put hair extensions on North West why.'

Concerned ‏@standalonei opined: 'Putting hair extensions on North West's hair is a quick way to weaken and break off her natural hair.'

While @LRHitchings added: 'Ok so North West has hair extensions at what, 3 years old??'

At the young age of two, North has sported a variety of hairstyles, but in recent times she has frequently worn her naturally shorter hair in a double braid.

Meanwhile, Khloe also posted a selfie of her braids as they flew out to Vail on Monday and captioned it 'native'.

Her decision to wear braids and then call them 'native' led to many criticising the star on social media for not only doing something which is cultural appropriation, but doing so knowing it is.
