A US Army veteran has received a shocking note attached to his windshield telling him 'U kill r brothers, u leave here now.'

Staff Sergeant Thomas Keane, who served 24 years in the army, found the menacing note on his car in St Cloud, Minnesota.

In a Facebook post that has been shared thousands of times, fellow veteran Jonathan Ksepka wrote: 'A fellow veteran living in St Cloud was leaving his house this morning and found this on the windshield of his van.

'This happened in his driveway while he and his family where home! 

'To all my brothers and sisters out there please give this as much visibility as you can. Watch your 6 and stay safe.'

It is not known who sent the note to Sergeant Keane.

The veteran told Fox9: '"I went to turn the car on, and I see the letter on my windshield. 

'It's just disturbing.'

Fox9 reported that Sergeant Keane is the recipient of a Purple Heart, an award given to wounded soldiers.
