Charlize Theron treated herself to a pampering session at Mêche Salon in Beverly Hills Wednesday where a haircut with highlights can cost upwards of $750.

The 40-year-old Oscar winner was dressed in her off-camera athleisure style - navy cardigan, b&w-patterned trousers, and casual slides.

The South African blonde's sighting came after she lamented the lack of roles for 'pretty people.'

'How many roles are out there for the gorgeous, f***ing, gown-wearing 8ft model? When meaty roles come through, I've been in the room and pretty people get turned away first.'

The Mad Max: Fury Road actress - who's 5ft10in - continued: 'It feels there's this unrealistic standard of what a woman is supposed to look like when she's over 40.'

On Sunday in Singapore, Theron looked every bit the movie star in a white Dior column gown featuring a thigh-high slit selected by stylist Leslie Fremar.
