He's ensuring his son Moses is having a birthday week to remember.

And after bringing the nine-year-old out on stage in front of a Peruvian arena packed full of screaming fans on Tuesday, Chris Martin treated his son to a meal at The Observatory restaurant in the country's capital Lima, alongside his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

Chris, 39, looked typically chirpy as he made his way to the eatery dressed in a casual ensemble consisting of a black beanie, a navy jumper emblazoned with a lightning bolt, a pair of black jeans and eye-catching blue and white trainers.

As the sun beat down upon his face, Chris strolled with a smile flanked by members of his entourage.

Moses doesn't actually turn 10 until Saturday, but that hasn't stopped his parents from seeing him into double digits in style.

During Coldplay's Lima gig on Tuesday, Chris placed an arm around his boy and escorted him out onto the stage where he was greeted by thousands of jubilant fans.

The musician's estranged spouse Gwyneth, 43, shared a sweet video from her backstage vantage point as her shocked son was ushered onstage.

His dad brought Moses to the front of the platform, while a crew member held a birthday cake aloft.

Gwyneth captioned the video: 'When your dad wishes you an early 10th birthday at work...#coldplaylima'.

The Paradise hitmaker's sweet gesture was met with a rush of emotion from fans on social media, enthusing, 'Awww' and 'What a nice dad!'.

Gwyneth has been supporting her ex on tour alongside son Moses and daughter Apple, 11.

The former couple, who filed for divorce in April 2015, are alleged to have just one more paper to sign before they can put an official end to their 10-year marriage.

According to TMZ, the final paper is a formality and could signal completion to their deal - wherein they have agreed joint custody of their children.

Chris and Gwyneth's lawyers have been 'hashing out a settlement' ever since she filed last year, an action which came one year after their announcement to separate or 'consciously uncouple.'

Holiday photographs on Gwyneth's Instagram show the family having a happy time together in Peru, and even though Chris is never pictured, People reports that they were seen at the same hotel.
