As fans of the singer will know, the 24-year-old is a huge football fan and signed as a non-contract player for his hometown team Doncaster Rovers in 2013 and made his debut playing for the reserve team in February 2014.

Two years ago, Louis made a failed bid to buy the team, who are currently in League One.

Meanwhile, Freddie's mother Briana Jungwirth shared her own image of their son on her Instagram page on Tuesday.

Alongside the latest family picture, the 24-year-old stylist penned a tribute to her newborn, thanking him for '[changing her] life for the better.'

The mum-of-one told her 407k followers: 'You've changed my life for the better. I love you with my whole heart.'

Freddie Reign, who is the son of One Direction heartthrob Louis, also 24, is pictured snuggling into mum Briana's left shoulder.

Louis' ex rests a delicate hand on the back on his head as they recline together on a chaise longue-style chair.

LA-based Briana is recognisable from her nose piercing, though 1D fans will note Briana's new, chestnut hair hue, that she debuted on the social media site last week.

Earlier this week, Louis's grandfather Len described his determination be a 'great dad.'

Speaking at his home in Doncaster on Tuesday, Len told ITV Calendar that seeing Louis as a father was a rewarding experience.

He said: 'He's learning very quickly to be a dad. I mean Louis wants to be a great dad and he is a great dad and will be a better dad. But it's all a new learning curve for him,' Len explained.

'I see him changing Freddie and feeding Freddie, like we all do and all have done. But it's a new phenomenon for Louis and he's learning very quickly on his feet '

'I mean the baby's very young, he's only two months old. So there's no real baby stories, apart from agaga agoogoo'.

News that Louis was to become a first-time dad broke in July 2015, following his brief fling with Briana in Los Angeles.

The singer has largely spent the last six months in the US as he tries to share visiting time with the mother of his child.

One Direction - featuring bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne, are currently on an extended hiatus from music.

Meanwhile Sony has filed a lawsuit against a company called Family Affair Music after they allegedly cashed a cheque which was meant to be for Family Affair Productions, TMZ reports.

Sony had licensed One Direction's C'mon C'mon and two further songs for $65,000, which they accidentally sent to the wrong company. They claim Family Affair Music are refusing to give back the money.
