And whilst she may have had Hollywood connections with her brother Ashton, 38, Tausha landed the role on her own after approaching Alanna Masterson, who plays Tara Chambler in the series.

Speaking to E! News, Alanna revealed: 'She’s a huge fan of The Walking Dead - I mean, they all are, Mila Kunis and Ashton, they all are.'

She continued: '[Tausha] asked if she could be a walker and I said sure, and [director] Greg Nicotero obviously is the man to make it happen, so I called him.'

The 27-year-old actress also revealed that she'd been questioned by Ashton and Mila about the cliffhanger finale, which saw several of the main characters facing death.

Alanna - who met Ashton after he worked with her brother Danny on That 70s Show and The Ranch - admitted: 'They sit me down and then they try and grill me...they try and find out, "So what does this mean?" And of course I don't say anything!'

Sunday's season finale left viewers in dismay after Jeffrey Dean Morgan made his debut as brutal, bat-swinging Negan, who used a children's game to pick his victim.

The leader of the Saviors played a game of 'Eeny, meeny, miny, moe' as he picked his victim, pointing his bat at leader Rick Grimes, his son Carl, wounded Daryl, Eugene, Abraham, Michonne, sick and pregnant Maggie and her boyfriend Glenn Rhee.

Before bringing the game to a deadly end, Negan warned that if anyone moved that Carl's other eye would be cut out and fed to his father Rick.

With Rick and his crew kneeling before him, Negan raised his weapon and brought it smashing down as the rhyme came to an end.
