Johnson County News, Thursday, Aug. 19, 1943 page 1. COLLISION KILLS 1, INJURE 2.
A bad accident occurred on Woods Hill about one mile from Shouns last Friday evening, when the State truck driven by Ambrose Garland collided with a car driven by Gene Ashley accompanied by ARLISS TRIVETTE, his brother and a girl. The two TRIVETTE boys and girl were rushed to the hospital at Bristol, where ARLISS died a few hours later. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Garfield TRIVETTE. Nine months ago another son was killed in an accident near where this one occurred.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the family cemetery with Rev. Noah Riddle officiating. W. Y. Hill in charge of the funeral.

Below is from Dolly Morgan:
Here is an obituary notice from The Johnson City Press dated 2-26-1964.
Eugene's wife was Rosa Trivette, who I believe was connected to the Garfield, Clyde and Eliza Trivette who are buried in this cemetery. I'm still checking, but I believe Rosa was the daughter of Eliza and Joshua Trivette, originally from NC. Rosa died in February 1985 and was buried in Kennett Square, PA.
Eugene was the son of Thomas M Walsh and Rawsa B Ashley. He was a half brother to Tom Ashley, and had four sisters.
The obit had the names wrong, but they were: Daisy Gilbert (my step-grand mother, who reared me.), Stella Gilbert, Verda Mae Tolbert, and Pearl Pennington. I knew Eva Ashley Moore well and spent time in her home.
I'm also sending you a Family Sheet for Tom and Rawsa which shows more info and pictures.
