It is not known whether the lion survived the fall into a rushing waterfall created by flood waters in Kenya's Nairobi National Park. It was seen trying to find other options for crossing (top left) before entering the water (bottom right), losing its footing (top right) and being swept away (bottom left). The cameramen who captured the incident on video have been accused of animal cruelty after they didn't dissuade the lion from entering the waters. It the second controversy this month for the National Park, after another lion, Mohawk, was shot last week.

The pictures were taken by Derek Pettersson, 54, who runs a tourist lodge two miles away from coast where the sea lions had gathered. Derek, owner of Volunteer point, said: 'It looks like they're hugging and going in for a kiss. They are mostly just playing, even when the slap happened, it wouldn't have been hard just playful.
