Kate Winslet was just 22 when she was catapulted to superstardom in Titanic - and what better way to celebrate her success than to splash out on a holiday home?

The bolthole of the now 40-year-old's choosing was a stunning four-bedroom, Japanese-style home in the village of Angarrack on the the Cornish coast.

The actress bought the 1,364sqft property for £200,000 with her then husband Jim Threapleton in 1998 and sold up after they split in 2001 for £250,000.

As well as the strong Japanese influence, some of the features at the stunning four-bedroom home  have a nautical feel - perhaps a nod to Kate's Titanic fame. The slanting skylights in the main living are (pictured above) give the space a maritime touch

The beautiful home, designed by local architect Barrie Briscoe, is now back on the market with estate agents The Modern House for £400,000.

Reminiscent of a traditional Japanese tea houses, the property has a wrap-around deck and a timber bridge leading to landscaped garden.

As well as the strong Japanese influence, some of the features also have an element of the nautical about them - perhaps a nod to Kate's Titanic fame.

The slanting skylights in the main living give the space a maritime feel. And in one of the bedrooms, a heavy-duty rope wrapped round the bottom of a pillar also adds a marine touch.

The home is arranged over three floors. Downstairs the double-height open plan kitchen / dining / living room is flooded with light.
