Change of lifeSTYLES: One Direction's Harry 'to give up celebrity privileges to live at sea as he prepares for first film role'

Since being sky-rocketed into the limelight at the tender age of 16, Harry Styles has lapped up the lavish lifestyle which comes part of the package when cast in a globally-appreciated boyband.

But the One Direction heart-throb is rumoured to bid a fond farewell to his celebrity privileges - such as posh dinners with the Primrose Hill posse - for a simpler life in order to help him prepare for his first film role.

Harry, 22, will join the cast and crew of Dunkirk on an old Navy ship which has no access to electricity or running water, according to The Sun.

A source told the newspaper: 'He knows this boot camp at sea is a big part of the job and is keen to get stuck in. But this will be tough and producers are trying to make life on board as realistic as possible.'

The experience will be a testing time for Harry as he and his co-stars will have to get by on rations of food - as opposed to the slap-up five-star meals out he's used to.

But perhaps the hardest challenge for the aspiring actor will be coping without his smart phone and the lack of connection to the outside world.

Harry's management declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.

Harry's role - which is so far undisclosed - in Christopher Nolan's World War II action-thriller will mark his Hollywood acting debut.

Details surrounding the plot of Dunkirk are yet to be released but it's common knowledge the singer will star alongside Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and and Kenneth Branagh.

Of the film role, an insider said previously: 'Harry has gone straight in at the top. Dunkirk will be massive. He was asked to audition for the part - which will be substantial - and impressed Christopher.

'This is now a great chance for him to show his acting skills and put himself in the frame for more huge movie roles. But music is still very much on his agenda and he would like to do both going forward.'
