Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry opens up about miscarriage and says it caused her marriage to 'spiral out of control'

Teen Mom 2 Kailyn Lowry has opened up about her recent miscarriage.

The reality star was hospitalized after a miscarriage earlier in the season but chose not to discuss it on camera until now, she revealed on Monday's emotional episode.

The 24-year-old broke down in tears as she discussed her grief and the pain she felt when husband Javi Marroquin blamed her for losing the baby.

While visiting her pal Sterling in New Mexico on the MTV episode, Kailyn cried as she revealed that she bled for 'days and days' afterwards. 

'We didn't tell anyone we were pregnant,' Kailyn said. 

'We were gonna announce on our Christmas cards.' 

And she revealed the aftermath caused a rift in her marriage as Javi seemed to turn against her.

'I was in the hospital when I first started miscarrying and immediately when I was released, he was like 'Do you want to go with me to get a haircut?'' remembered Kailyn.

'And I just looked at him like 'We're not grieving together.' And so that's when things with him spiraled out of control. 

'He was just a different person. He was mean to me, we weren't communicating. He shut down, it was like a light switch, everything changed,' she said.

'I didn't feel like he was grieving with me or being sensitive to how I felt. 

She added: 'Yeah, I was released from the hospital but I went home and I was still bleeding. So every single time I went to the bathroom I was reminded of it, where he was like 'OK, you miscarried now I have to get over it, go to work, go about his day.''

On Monday's episode, Javi apologized and admitted he had unfairly blamed Kailyn for the painful miscarriage.

'I knew it was no one's fault. It wasn't your fault, and it wasn't my fault,' he said.

'I needed to blame somebody, and I was taking it out on you.

'I'm sorry for being mean to you when it all happened,' he said.

'In my head, I'm thinking, 'She shouldn't have went to the gym, she shouldn't have gone to jiu jitsu,' or stuff like that. Even though I know it had nothing to do with that.'

Kailyn also shared her advice to other women who have been through miscarriage in a MTV video.

'It doesn't matter how far along you are when you have a miscarriage because I feel like... a mom becomes a mother when she finds out she's pregnant,' she said.

'Everyone grieves differently, everyone grieves for different periods of time. 

'So I think just take the time to grieve and do what you need to do to make yourself healthy again and be ready to take that next step and move forward,' she said.

The reality star has two children: six-year-old son Isaac with ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera, and two-year-old son Lincoln with Javi. Her ex Jo announced earlier this month that he is engaged to girlfriend Vee Torres.

Kailyn, who underwent a Brazilian butt-lift and tummy tuck in January, looked glamorous as she debuted her post-surgery body at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.
